The 80a three year old reman from CarQuest stopped charging. Wacking it with a hammer fixed it so I ordered brushes from the dealer and replaced them. The brush assembly I pulled had brushes that were barely 1/8” long. I’m sure they were either the cheep 6 dollar brushes, or the Alt had a different failure like a voltage regulator.
Reman stuff is not a full rebuild. They only replace what’s broken imo.

For me, OEM period. Even if it is at the wrecking yard, Denso has never let me down.
