I personally think the 5 spoke 4Runner 16" wheels (mine) and the double-5-spoke 17" LC wheels (COB and many others) are two best Toyota wheels.
If want to go up to 33s then a 17" will look good but if you only are going up to 31.5" tire then 16" wheels look best.
Just my 2 cents

After that lift stuff in my build thread, I will have to go to 265's minimum. I am thinking 255/75/16. I plan on using the 4Runner for a good amount of road trips, to national forests and such. Therefore I want to be able to get decent mileage.
Of course I need to get a hold of some FJ rims first...

WOW! This look great on the 4Runner. Are you running spacers? Any issues?

You've got your Toyota's wrong. Those were FJ Cruiser rims and the 17" split spokes COB has are from a Tundra not a LC. LC rims are only 16". I like the 5 stars, but I prefer a 8" wide rim and less backspacing like the LC and LX rims.

I have been looking into getting FJ wheels. The only part that sucks is how limited you are tire size wise. I am gonna do treadwrights. Only me in the car, so if I die (I won't) it's just me.
LC wheels look pimp too.

285's will fit fine on the FJ wheels. That's exactly what I'm running.

where have most of you found FJ wheels? are you buying them used of CL or purchasing them new? I've been looking into getting some for my 2008 SR5 and painting them black on my own. would be interested to hear the best avenue to get some....

Craigslist and a little luck will be your best bet... Cost to ship a wheel isn't TOO much, a bit of a hassle though.

I'm surprised there's no picture of these. It's like the new modern FJ80 rim
