1996 front bumper swap to 01-02

Hello all, I am new to the forum. Just purchased a 1996 4runner SR5 (manual transmission) with 130k on it. Love it! Got a decent deal on it, so now I am trying to do some exterior fixes on it, as I have some $ left over from the car purchase. I really like the 01-02 4runner front bumpers. Would they fit on my 1996? If so, where is a good website to get quality OE parts for your 4runner? I also want to to get the fender flares that are on the limited edition 4runners. I am assuming that those would fit without much hassle.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Im pretty sure there's a write up on it around here, actually a lot of guys take the 99+ bumper and put a 96-98 but your best bet would be to check some junk yards because otherwise its gonna cost a good penny.

i dont know where you maybe....but i have a trade for you if you would like i have a 99 and have the newer front bumper but like in the post after yours i wanna us a 96-98 bumper on the front end of mine...SO IF YOU WANNA TRADE LETS GET THAT IN!!!

Ya I used to think I wanted a 99+ bumper on mine.I like both but Ive grown to like my bumper more. Its simple and clean looking. OP if its the fog lights youre after in the newer bumper, you can just modify your current valance the same way I did

I was just going to search on this topic, but I wanted to do the reverse. I think the '99 bumper sticks out way too far and looks funky and since my garage is pretty short getting back a few inches of useless bumper would give me more room to walk around the truck when the garage is closed.

Thats a load of sh*t, it's the thinnest backing bracket for that granny lip on the bottom, it just means you will hit sh*t sooner so it's worse for parrelal parking.
