Hey, I have been searching around here and it seems like just about everyone is running 16" rims on their 4runners. My 97 came with 15" rims and I am trying to decide my best option for tires, or if I should just upgrade to the 16" rim.
My plans right now are to lift my 4runner with LC coils and then level out the front with OME coils. With this lift setup I think that 31x10.5 may be too small. My understanding is that these would be a bit smaller than 265x75r16. Is there anyine running a setup similar to this?
I could go with the 33x10.5 but I'm not sure how bad those will rub if at all. In that size my options for tires also become more limited. I was leaning towards treadwright tires but the options in 15 " are very limited.
Let me know what y'all think and post pictures if you have any of these tire sizes so I can get an idea of what I'm looking at. Thanks in advance for the help.
Not an expert, but I'd think it would be best to step up to 16s before you get new tires, especially if you're going with lc coils in back. I think it might look a bit off to have the smaller wheels.
I imagine you can get some used oem 16" wheels for pretty cheap if you don't want to shell out the cash for new aftermarket wheels.
Run whatever size tires you want? Like he said, if you want the full size tundra break mod they won't fit. But i'm running 35x12.5 on a 15x7. They call that the poor mans beadlock. lol
