Another SR5 running board removal, can't find the mudguard thread...

Ok so I know in probably gonna get blasted for this but I've done the searching and research and can't seem to find a straight answer. Have a 99 sr5 runner with the black plastic flares. I tried to order the flare extender/mudflaps from the dealer and one side is discontinued. What are my options and or does anyone know where I can find the flap. I haven't been able to find good solid info or a lead on where to find it. Trying to take the running boards off and not have the ugly gap where the flare extended to the running board. Any help would be appreciated. Also, will an aftermarket set of bushwacker extend a fender flares solve my problem?

your only option if you want to get the oem flares is to pray you find a pair in craiglist or a junkyard, they are discontinued.
if you only want to get rid of the gap contact D Farms and wait until he makes more gap fillers.

another option is go with the bushwacker flares

After looking everywhere with no success I saw someone had a post where they cut off the upper portion of the flare from the runner board. So I did that first and it looked okay. Then the other day another 3rd gen passed me on 40 and they had done the same thing only they added a mudflap. I thought it looked good so I started searching and found Rally Armor. So this is what I ended up with. Good Luck.

That is a mod for the Wide SR5(Highlander)/sport flares, he has the skinny SR5 flares.

I love how the truck looks without the running boards but with a pregnant wife I do not have the option to remove them. tear
