If you going to use a rocker switch to send power to USB. You need a 5 pin rocker switch. 5 pin rocker switch has independent pins for illumination. Bottom led and top led are independent. For example, my rocker switches illuminate only when I turn on my head lights. And then the top part of the rocker switch illuminates when you flip the switch. Just my preference. I wouldn't want a rocker switch always illuminated.

I saw some of the 5 pin switches and for me those seem too complex for this project. I am perfectly happy using a non illuminated switch. If I were to purchase the above illuminated switch, would the light stay "ON" when the switch is activated? or is it always on? My biggest problem is that there are 15 bazillion rocker switches on Amazon but I have trouble deciding if they will fit. I started this thread so that I could get as much info as possible before ordering. When you live where I do, getting the right parts the 1st time is a must.
I like the blue usb outlet with the voltage readout. I would like to get a non-illuminated switch that just pops into the standard dash panel cutouts. I plan to install the outlet behind the shifter under the "ECT" button since there is an open slot there.
The remark was in response to your "yes", not to the part about grounding a lighted switch.
When wired correctly a lighted rocker is only illuminated when it's in the on position.
