Can't get front brake bleed screw to stop seeping fluid

Hi all,
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get one of my front bleeder screws to stop leaking from the threads!


I'll try to make this clear and step-by-step:

I am running 199mm 01-02 Tundra calipers up front, which have a 1.0x10mm thread pitch brake bleed screw.

I just put some Stoptech SS lines up front, and an extended Toytec line in the rear.

I did a full brake fluid flush with OEM Toyota Dot fluid.

I did a full bleed, and the pedal feel is now excellent.

I crawled back under after riding around some, and noticed my front passenger bleeder screw had a stream of brake fluid coming out of the threads. I cranked down on it with a proper flare nut wrench, and it didnt help the leaking at all. I probably tightened it way too much to be honest.

No fix.

Went to the auto parts store and got a new bleeder screw--- Didnt fix it

Wondering what the heck to do now. Really not wanting to get a new caliper if I can help it Hoping the bleeder seat isnt screwed up? How could I tell if it is?

What about just using some thread sealant?
 
Not a bad idea, but Brake fluid will eat thread sealant. It would be a bandaid. Brake bleeders don’t seal at the thread, they seal at the seat.

I’m thinking I trashed my seat when over tightening. Live and learn!

Valid point. Hopefully someone else will have a better idea so you dont have to redo everything.

It's usually the bleed screw taper being damaged from overtightening, but since you have already replaced it there might indeed be a seat issue. I've been able to see into the seat with a flashlight when I've had this issue - I had a Porsche caliper half that was mis-manufactured (drilled off-center) once - had to replace the caliper half to correct it.

Where did you get the calipers?
 
These are Napa reman units

I was a little perplexed on this since I ran these calipers about 20k miles with no leaks. I went back to Napa today and got a new passenger caliper.

Had to really crank down on the bleeder on this one too- even with the supplied screw. However no more leaks!

I must have screwed up my previous calipers seat- I can’t think of anything else it could have been, since the new one is good to go now
