Despite being involved with IT in one form or another since the late 80's (me and Al invented the internette, you see), I have never had a real FB account - just a short-lived lurker account to try to catch a glimpse of an ex-gf I let slip away....YT is very worthwhile to me and IG lets me know when underground bands I'm interested in are coming through or releasing music much better than any other platform. I have no family to keep up with other than my immediate wife/kids and I find Zuckerberg and his empire extremely annoying. I just came across a video of him piloting a hydrofoil on lake Tahoe holding a flag on the 4th. King of the milquetoast d-bags. Doesn't help that I live amongst his legion of app-holes, either....

Try joining the 3.4 Supercharged group. I try and give real-life advise as I've done more work on a supercharged engine than most. My advice get drowned out by "you need this thing" or "my rig runs just fine" anecdotes. There's only about 10 out of 4,600 members that actually know what they are talking about.

At least everyone here is smart enough to ditch it, almost refreshing to see. It seems like the overwhelming norm these days is to ***** about how oppressive and almost unconstitutional sites like FB and Google and Twitter are and how toxic the userbase is, but then scoff at the idea of deleting their account or do relatively anything BUT give them unending support... like yep it sure is a mystery how things got this way

I only have facebook to buy/sell things (craigslist is dead) and as a way to contact guys I served with. I've got one friend who gets a new number every 1-3 months. I have no idea why either lol

I switched to MeWe so far no censorship { a few years ago}. Tim and Sean are not anything close to communist. They are American and just like to make Do It Yourself videos.

The good news other platforms gained traction. As if you dig into it some. Lifelog shut down the day that Facebook went online for everyone. Mark Suckabuck didn't invent anything. It was I think a DARPA program to get people to share all their private information for various intelligence gathering. :-(

I can see this thread going off the rails, though....what i like about this community is although I'm sure there are all kinds of viewpoints here, there is a distinct lack of politics and conspiracy theories. Big tech censorship, for whatever reason, is not conspiracy, and we have to live with it and find solutions. You have a proof, in the first post of this thread. You don't think he can be ''censored'', yet you are in a post where his videos got deleted. Jeez...

Even if the reason is that doing mechanics can hurt you, for our security, for whatever, I don't care, result is the same.

Once you got that computed in your politically correct brain, leave me the hell alone to simply state that the videos of timmy are valuable and that he/we shall make backups and use whatever services are needed, if ever needed, for the community to access these resources in the future.
