I do like Charlie. I exactly have a spreadsheet tab for each vehicle. Along with an inventory tab of the parts I have in stock to try to keep myself organized.

It's a work on progress as alot of my used parts are not on my inventory yet.

Thanks for the bulld update. As aluminum starts to oxidize it will not transfer the heat as well. Once you see fins starting to deteriorate on your rad or Condenser replace them. As your loosing the heat transfer ability. You probably know this but I figured worth mentioning to users reading this. Great tip on lock cylinders. Thanks for sharing..

I looked into the champion, but most of the reviews say that the mounting tabs are in the wrong spot and have to be bent out of the way. Several reviews say the nuts don’t line up with that factory bolt holes. It has a transmission cooler unlike the Koyo if that’s a determining factor for you or not. I don’t need it so I’d prefer not to have it. One less thing to go wrong and whatnot. I like to include part numbers and prices for anyone that might need them. I’m collecting parts faster than I can find time to install them lol! I wish I had a FLIR gun so I could see how bad the radiator actually is. I looked through the maintenance receipt folder but didn’t see radiator replacement so I’m willing to bet it’s the original. Good info on the oxidation and heat transfer. I towed a little utility trailer to my storage unit and back after work today. Probably 1500 lbs total for 15 miles. During that time my ultragauge showed my coolant temps got up to 223*F so I’m leaning more towards overkill with Koyo. I’m sure Denso would be fine but it’ll make me feel better for no good reason lol

I'm also stockpiling parts for much of the same maintenance on my 4WD - the difference being I have zero maintenance records from the PO and it's not my DD or even close to it so I haven't noticed any high coolant temps, yet.

Mine had black Husky floor mats in it when I bought it, very similar to weathertech in style and fit albeit thinner. I swapped them out for the tan weathertechs from my 2WD. Thankfully the carpet in my rig is also in excellent shape thanks to the POs Husky mats.

I'm curious about the Koyo radiator (I bought a Denso from Longo Toyota) and I too have a 5-speed and don't need the trans cooler...

I've been waiting to do the rad swap and flush, and will also change from green juice to red juice and eliminate the rear heater & core in the process. I don't see myself using it much in SoCal. I was waiting for the timing belt replacement as not to have to drain the system twice and I haven't felt rushed to do that job yet. I've been focused on suspension work and ancillary electrical projects.

Thanks for the kind words! It's funny how the cycle goes. Get a new vehicle, plan on keeping it stock nothing crazy, then before you know it you need to buy a beater car so you have something to drive while you work on your main vehicle lol

What a weekend! I discovered Friday that my storage unit was broken into sometime between May 7th-9th. Allegedly a lot of the storage units in the compound were broke into. The office was closed when I discovered that my unit had their lock and not mine which annoyed me so I removed their lock. Opened the door to my storage unit and found the massive lock that I use sitting on the floor unscathed. I guess it was too big to cut, but not hard to pick. Anyways, they took a couple faucets, water filter system, garbage disposal and my rear disc brake conversion kit. The theft of the kit upset me the most because midcoma stopped making them awhile ago.

Went to the storage unit office Saturday morning to figure out what was going on and to raise hell. They only had 1 security camera looking at the gate entrance/exit so no way to tell which vehicle was the culprit. The only thing I had going for me at this point was the storage unit company I used sold out to a bigger storage unit company several months ago, and the new storage unit company required everyone to carry $5000 of insurance so at least I'm covered for the value of what was stolen.

I private messaged midcoma Saturday night hoping by some miracle that he had an extra full kit or knew someone that had an extra full kit and would be willing to sell it. It was a longshot, but I've been dreaming of installing the conversion kit and finally purchased several of the parts to do it. Luckily for me he had a full kit that someone had purchased a month or so ago but didn't pay for the extra shipping charge so he refunded the other guy his money and sold it to me. Talk about a miracle (at least in my eyes)! I can't thank him enough! He did recommend that I not wait a year to install this kit so it wouldn't get stolen lol!

I did file a police report on Sunday once I knew what I was missing. Next steps will be to contact storage unit company for the insurance information and the police station for a copy of the report.

Bogus . I really don't have time for theifs.. I personally don't think the pushisments are high enough.

Just add another 3rd gen to your fleet so you have something to drive while working on the other.

Seriously tho, bummer and what a stroke of luck. I hate thieves and have had too many things stolen to not feel it each time I hear it happened to someone else.

Glad there was a silver halo to your cloud but that feeling of violation - I'll never get used to that.

That would truly be the miracle lol With only one camera on location I would be surprised if there was even a follow up from a detective at this point. BUT if it does get recovered then I'll sell it.

It's not the first time I've been robbed, and it never feels any better. Expectations are much more managed and realistic this time.

Very good thought on the fan clutch. As long as the thermostat is good and the radiator wasn't oxidizing. If those 2 things check out then the fan clutch is definitely a high possibility of being bad.

How I test mine is when the engine starts cold it will spin for a little while then stop. You can also feel slight resistance when Turing them. My area doesn't get really hot. So mine and probably bad and I just don't notice..
