Valvoline Destroyed My Engine
EDIT: Valvoline Instant Oil Change forgot to tighten the oil filter. A bad oil change ruined the engine.
The engine was damaged so badly that I had to get a new engine core. The rebuild starts tomorrow. Everything, I mean everything is being replaced with all new parts. Are there any performance engine parts that would be a MUST GET that anyone would recommend? Or should I just stick with all OEM?

I assume you mean Valvoline the oil change place and not the oil itself. Just go with OEM parts all round.
Toyota makes the highest quality parts for our vehicles, so if the parts are being paid on someone elses dime and you were fine with stock performance why bother changing it.

Very misleading post so far. I've used Valvoline lubricants for decades, as I'm sure many others have, with no problems related to their performance.

If they're truly at fault you can sue for the value of your vehicle which would more than cover the cost of a crate motor.

Holy clickbait Batman! Way to make an outlandish and misleading claim then provide no evidence or information at all.
With that said I recommend you get at least a turbocharger and intercooler with your new engine. Nitrous as well unless you can't handle the ponies. Might as well convert the fuel system for E85 while you're there.

**** that have them supercharge that *****. Throw some headers on and megasquirt that ECM. Then leave clouds of smoke on the way out the lot. You can't change your own oil though. Be a waste.

Do both! Twin charge it for the win!

I read about this trouble with Valvoline . They are offering a free EV upgrade kit for people who were impacted by the "Valvoline Destroyed My Engine" problem. I have reviewed the kit and it's high quality, you should contact Valvoline directly as they will overnight ship the kit to you.
The only thing about the kit is it runs on coal to generate the electric charge for the salt ion based battery.

I'm not a fan of Valvoline oil, but I highly doubt it destroyed your 4Runner.

This thread is going places. Although this feels like a trap and it’s generally bad policy to feed the trolls, I’m in………..
Hey Op, are you suggesting that a lifetime engine oil fill isn’t the way to go? Were the magnets on the fuel line pointed the right way?
