Model Kit / DieCast / Etc
I really miss my 1999 4Runner SR5. Is there ANYTHING available in the toy / diecast / 1:24 model market for a 3rd Gen 4Runner? I don't care if its from Japan or anywhere else, I really want to get something nice to always remind me of the best vehicle I ever had. Kicked ass in the snow, was great if needed to go off-road.
Looking to get a newer one, but there is nothing like a 3rd Gen 4Runner.
I am probably gonna hear there is nothing out there, but I I figured I'd take a shot. I have searched around web and found nothing.
Thank you

I read through that, and I would absolutely LOVE to find one of the diecast models and paint it black like mine was, but I dont think those are anywhere.
Any good models to build of 3rd gen??

Another option
OP - I would love to find the same thing, and will be searching for something like that.
In the meanwhile, or if you don't end up finding such a model, there is another, much larger option. No building or real assembly required, and you can drive it through your house, yard, etc., and have a ton of fun while reminiscing about your old '99 (I currently drive a '99).
I am into r/c model aircraft, and may get one of these when I get some spare cash:
MINI-Z 4x4 Readyset Toyota 4Runner (Hilux Surf) - KYOSHO RC
Around $200 with a radio transmitter. You can find them on Amazon and maybe some other places.

That is pretty cool alright, thanks for the link....
I am looking for a model as I'd like to build it and display or just a diecast so I can display it somewhere, and I will keep searching for something. Shocked there isnt a plastic model kit from one of the vendors that was never made.
I'd enjoy the hell out of building that. Take me back to my youth when I used to build a lot of models....miss that hobby!

Pretty quick and easy to put together. I did it all in a evening with a beer or two...

I have seen one of these before. I was out rockhounding looking for crystals and there was an RC club doing a "4x4 crawl" down the trail. A 10 year old girl was driving this exact RC 4Runner, hers was black and grey. I think those are 1st Gen 4Runners? Anyway, apart from the randomness and slightly nerdiness of it all the group was really cool to talk to and they were having a blast. I was just on the hillside geeking out over finding tremolite and clinochlore, definitely not nerdy at all...

The world we live is too amazing not to be! I don't care what brings people outside whether it be offroading a full-sized 4Runner or a miniature, we live in an endlessly beautiful country that begs to be explored.
