Very good. Those plates will last quite a while..
I am glad to see you treated and cleaned the inside of the frame as that's very important.
My first frame repair was 7 years ago. I threw one together for a work beater as I live in the rust belt as well. [ still driving it]
My build thread is full of frame repairs. As as time went on I went from external frame plating, to more internal frame plating. For 2 reasons.
The first is to try to keep the frame dimensions close to OEM
The second is to seal out the frame holes. As these frames always rot out from the inside out.
So it's up to you as it's your rig. If you plan on running it more then 5 years from now in the same environment.
You may wish to coat the inside of your frame with whatever your favorite rust prevention solution maybe.
As wherever we weld, the metal will oxidize 2 to 4x faster from the metal being reorganize from the welding heat especially if it's not treated or coated.
