Hilux Surf White Instrument Dials

White instrument dials were available as an option on some 99+ Hilux Surfs and I'm contemplating swapping over via the aftermarket route. Wondered if anyone has recommendations on white dial kit manufacturers in terms of fit, clarity- day and night. Going in a '98

I believe zacattack20 replaced his gauges at some point, can't remember what he used but maybe whoever he did can do what you're looking for?

Any reason the 2000-2004 Tacoma factory white gauges wouldn't work?

The '98 was an oddball year having the gear selection integrated into the speedo.

I recommend searching for aftermarket vs OE Hilux Surf dials, simply because they only display kilometers per hour.

One of the first changes I plan to make when I ship my Surf to the States when I move back is a set of 4Runner dial faces so I have the MPH numbers.

Just to clarify I'm not looking to source JDM dials but replace with aftermarket. Just wondered how they compare w/ factory especially at night time. I remember seeing that you can also replace the needle/pointers with with ones in more of a vibrant red which maybe quite sharp looking.

It's the same switch as a 96-98 but located below drivers vent,, albeit the correct way up! There might be a long enough wire tail to move it from the centre console.

I replaced the gauge faces on my 99 with white Tacoma faces about 15yrs ago from eBay. Still working fine. came with it's own dimmer and ability to light up green or blue. I remember you could get all kind of different looking faces and pointers. they just install where the old face was by removing the two screws.
search for Tacoma white gauge face
