Yeah it's hit or miss on if you actually get an OEM part in a Denso box. I have found the Reman Alternators and Radiators to be the exact same parts.
555 is a brand that people claim to be OEM, but it's definitely not.
Aisin Water pumps are known to be Genuine Toyota with the TOYADA ground off.

I think folks probably think that 555 is OEM because they’re made in Japan. I’ve never thought nor been convinced that they’re an OEM supplier. But just like you mentioned above, Denso, Aisin etc are all OEM suppliers for Toyota.

Agree 555 are tier 3 or 4. Not tier 1.
Same main mfg but different quality. All my asin water pumps I changed you can see where hit the grinder marks were Toyota was...;)
Most of the time, the oem mfg are high enough quality but I get it on the lower ball joints.

Thanks a bunch for sharing that article! Exploring the contrasts between OEM and aftermarket parts is genuinely fascinating. It sheds light on how even parts from the same manufacturer can differ, depending on whether they're sold under the manufacturer's brand or as aftermarket alternatives. Understanding these nuances can be crucial for making informed choices when it comes to vehicle maintenance.
If you ever find yourself in need of reliable aftermarket parts, don't hesitate to explore platforms like rrr.lt/en. They offer a diverse range of automotive components, and you might just find the perfect part for your needs at a competitive price.

another thing is that a supplier say for the brake master cylinder gasket can openly claim they are a toyota OEM manufacture even if its not a part your looking at. Making it up about the gasket...but same rule applies.

Not all 555 is made in Japan Either. 555 supplies AC Delco parts manufactured in China. I replaced my LBJs and Tie Rods with AC Delco, and they were all stamped 555 made in China.
So unless you get a genuine 555 part labeled Made in Japan, chances are the "bargain" you got is really just a cheap china part.

That's something I learned a while ago too. I received a 555 stamped tierod end when I purchased a Beck/Arnley part. Just because the body says 555 doesn't mean the installed ball joint is also a 555 item.

Beck/Arnley re-boxes a LOT of what they sell - that was likely a real 555 part. Sometimes you can even get true OEM parts that way.

I once got a DENSO part for my old pickup that was in an Duralast box from Autozone. That's when I first learned about how these companies don't necessarily manufacture the parts they sell, it is often just rebranded.
Same like how the value brand at your grocery store isn't made by the store. It's just another suppliers product that has be relabeled.
