Those are OLD tires, keep an eye on them for signs that they're coming apart.

Yeah I ended up needing new ones for the inspection lol. Oh well, got some cool wheels.

I also installed an in line radiator hose heater yesterday because Alberta. It's only 350W but it was getting pretty hot last night when I tested it. Today it's 3F outside and will get down to -24F mid week so we'll see how she goes.

Installed this 1.25" in line coolant heater - although the lower rad hose internal diameter is 1 3/8"... I used high temp RTV and tightened the clamps quite tight. Around 0F today and it turned over with 2 cranks so I'm pretty happy with it

How does this work with a closed thermostat? Doesn't seem like you could get much flow through the engine/rad. It seems like you could do something like that on the heater hoses or bypass hoses though.

This is kind of what I was wondering about... So the thermostat shuts w/ engine off? I could re-locate it to a better location if that's the case

Thermostat opens when the coolant on the engine side of the thermostat gets hot enough.

Like @Bad Luck said, I've had one installed for yrs in the same location without issue.

It definitely won't cause an issue - I just wonder how effective it can be on the radiator side of the cooling system. It seems like one of the smaller units designed for 5/8" hose (heater hose) plumbed carefully would work better.

Only been driving the truck a few days now, dash clock has been out since i got it. Today it randomly lights up... I set the time then a few mins later it goes out again. Fast forward a few hours on the drive home it comes back to life and the time is still correct.

I seem to remember seeing a post about the spring connectors dying inside. Will need to take a closer look.

I'm also looking at replacing the cluster lights, just not sure if i want to go with LED since they might be too bright / not dimmable...

It's most likely not the springs in the clock. It's some of the resistors on the back. If you heat up each end with a soldering gun and reflow the solder your clock will work normally again.

Thanks. I'll take a look one day when I eventually drop that part of the dash.

Is there anything under the hood that could be responsible, say drivers side near the firewall? I was sitting there idling to warm up and heard a wooshing noise then the clock came to life. Weird I know... could be unrelated. What's the technical term for wooshing noise?

Not sure what that would be, but I'd say with nearly 100% certainty it was unrelated, the resistors in the clocks are a known weak point as the solder gets old and cracks, and sometimes will work when it's super cold.
