No, I haven't priced them but tires have gone up a ton since I got those 265/75/16 MT for $126 each (almost 3 years ago)! America's Tire matched a Walmart price I found online. I would get something a bit more well behaved next time but with MT capabilities. Plan to go taller and narrow next time but may have to go to 17" wheels for more selection....

Check out the other tabs on that site useful stuff.
Cooper ST Max AT 255-85/16 has been popular for tall skinny.
With 16's and 285's 8" width zero offset 4.5" backspace 3"- 4" lift has worked well.
What the OG's said worked best 20 yrs. ago I've stuck with it.
I posted in SPC alignment sheet thread with 5 stars offset backspacing and spacers.

Okay, so I'm inching closer here, and ran into a goofy snag.
Found these locally, and they were so cheap I couldn't ignore them. Off a 2022, same bolt pattern, and only driven for one summer, so no salt damage at all. $250, all 4, with lug nuts.
They're 17's though.
The whole tire mire makes my head spin.
I just want raised white letter. 16" I can find plenty. 17's though? It's like they cease to exist.
I wanted Cooper AT3 XLT's, and after playing with the awesome tire size/offset calculator 96 RedRunner posted, I went from thinking 285x70's to 285x75's.
That too, messed things up. I can find the 70's in 17 white letter. but the 75's, no dice. Looked at All Terrain T/A K02's, ditto for no white letters in 75.
Am I crazy???
So, any and all suggestions for a 285x75xR17, white letter, tread with side knob, along the lines of the above mentioned options?
Google refuses to easily let me search for tire size + raised white letter, and just gives me junk links to Walmart or wherever, and lots of 16" versions, not 17's.
Educate me please, I'm all ears.

Also, after all that, I also looked for 255/85/17's, which would be a great version of the slightly taller and skinnier tires I'm seeking, and only one tire exists?
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T LT 255/85R17 121/118Q E (10 Ply) AT All Terrain Tire
There's also a Falken on line, but Falken no longer lists them on their site, so I'm assuming they dropped it.
Yokohama seems to have one, I'm chasing it down.
Yes, not white letter, gah, I'm driving myself nuts.

I believe in a 17” wheel it’s 255/80 not 255/85
255/85 is mostly 16s and 255/80 is for 17” and have slightly less sidewall to make up for a slightly larger wheel

How much are you planning on clearancing? 255/85R17 and 285/75R17 are 34 inch tires

If you aren't going to be cutting up the body, stick with metric 32's (265/70-17). Those tire sizes you list are quite large...
If you are going to clearance the body and front bumper, then you can go bigger on tire size.

Okay, sorry everyone, yesterday was mid "WTF" time, I've now spent a few more hours, and come to a better understanding. I'm not ignoring the helpful responses above, just jumping ahead to my final answer, that I'd appreciate any thoughts y'all might have.
Gave up on white letter.
Seems 17" wheels really limits choices, why Toyota uses it as a stock size then, no clue.
Any rate, what I wanted, and mentioned a bit earlier in this thread, was taller and skinnier.
In 17's there's literally one tire that achieves this, and that's this fella:

The video below goes into more detail than I'll bore you with, but this guy has similar lift to me, his is 3" suspension to my 2", and mine is actually a tad taller overall with spacer blocks.

And below is a screenshot of the size comparison, current tire on the vehicle, to the Mickey Thomson.
The video also shows where he got rubbing on the inside rear of the wheel well, so I now have a visual understanding of where, which helps me picture how I'd resolve the rub, but I think this tire, will actually pull farther away, there, and the height, am I crazy? I don't think the height will impact me at all.
Am I on the right track? At this stage, I'm happy to deal with whatever the results are, but I think I can run this with no wheel spacers at all.

Just figured out how to measure wheel offset, and these 2022 4Runner stockers, are 124mm from mounting surface to inner rim edge.
Simply adding that data point.

Trying to sort out wheel offset versus wheel spacer blocks

Tire Height isn’t really an issue with these trucks it’s the width that kills them. I ran 255/85 on stock suspension and the clearancing was very simple and easy. Took about 10-15 mins per side hitting the firewall and trimming the front bumper a bit.
Like how people with 285s usually do new upper control arms and spacer and all that. 255s you don’t need to do any of that, like I said I ran them with totally stock suspension

White letters are throwing a wrench in the decision for you it seems.
Changing wheels I wanted tires to be same location they came from.
I marked them with a enamel paint pen so tire guy would know.
No precleaning a lite swipe with paint figured it'd wear off. 8 months later
Could barely tell a difference, it took comet short stiff bristle brush n elbow grease.
Alcohol precleaning doing it with purpose could get you some options.

Are the 'spacers' you are talking about suspension spacers or body lift? If not body lift, your total suspension lift in the front means nothing for tire clearance - the suspension travels in the same arc no matter its starting point.
Clearance is highly dependent on wheel offset, tire width and what your definition of 'fits' is... so there is no such thing as a straight answer to this.
100% stock, no other changes, metric 32's are the biggest you can go.
As soon as you open up hammering, cutting, welding, etc. you can go up to about 35's. The farther out the wheels go, the more F/R wheel well clearance you need, the farther in the wheels go, the more you have to worry about upper a-arm and frame clearance. Bigger tires also mean more chance of breaking other drivetrain parts, re-gearing, etc.
The white lettering thing is a bit odd requirement - but DIY painting is always an option, which should open all the possibilities you may want. (there are plenty of Jeeps with 17's, so there really shouldn't be tire choice limitations)
