Looking for a Mechanic in Spokane (3rd Gen T4R Limited)

Hey guys, my daughter lives up in Spokane Valley, Washington, and is having some problems with her '99 4Runner Limited. Her trying to describe what she's experiencing is pretty painful, and not very helpful.

She thinks it might be the transmission, as it idles low when stopped and kind of has a delay/bog down when accelerating from a stop. She previously had a code for a bad throttle position sensor, which makes me think it may be more of that than the transmission, but since the code was cleared it hasn't returned.

Does anyone know of any good mechanics up that way? It looks like Pete's Independent Honda gets rave reviews, but they're booked up until 12/15. I'd like to get it in someplace before it gets too cold. I would say Spokane, Spokane Valley, and Liberty Lake are all in play. Thanks in advance.

It might be a bad or dirty MAF, if she bought some cleaner it wouldn't be too difficult to spray it out and see if that helps any, when mine needed to be cleaned it caused (or seemed to) cause those issues.

Thanks, RF! She was going to need help to replace the throttle position sensor I sent her, so I think she's going to need some help cleaning or replacing the MAP. That is a great suggestion, though!

Besides MAF cleaning (don't replace it, they rarely go bad), only use MAF spary nothing else and do not touch the MAF, only spray on it.

Then clean the plenum intake up to the flapper, reach behind it as best you can with a finger/cloth to wipe it as much as possible on the back side and where the two sides connect/swivel (its easy to see all this).

This should help if not resolve those issues. Luck.
