Are RockAuto "Denso coils" legit?
Are the described as Denso ignition coils, Part # 6731201 $54.79 ea, on RockAuto legitimate?
I like nothing but Toyota parts on my 3rd Gen, and I get my parts from McGeorge Toyota which is even more beneficial to me now that I live in Virginia. McGeorge lists their coils, Part # 90919-02212, at $104.61 each
Is there a difference between the two part numbers?
The price on RockAuto for Denso coils has me cautious and skeptical...

Denso makes parts for toyota. They have have their own part numbers for the aftermarket. it should be a quality part.

Long time lurker first post. I learned a few days ago that Oriellys price matches rock auto. They even price matched the wholesale close out price although they included shipping as part of the cost.

Price is in-line with densoproducts.com so I would assume so. 673-1201 is the correct p/n.
That's dealership markup for you.

I wouldn't be worried whether it's legit or not, now if your ordering them on amazon maybe different story. But as someone has already said Denso is an OEM manufacture for Toyota. Meaning toyota doesn't make the part, denso does... and by buying it on rockauto you save a ton of money for the exact same product. I wanted to replace all three of my coil packs a while back now and ordered a set of 3 and the denso coil packs, and wires / boot set off rock auto and put them in my 4runner and so far they've been great. They look the exact same as my original OEM ones I took out, besides the Toyota sticker. Most of the stuff I try to avoid on rock auto since it is usually crap. But sometimes you get lucky and find a OEM manufacture part made by either Aisin or Denso. Saves you lots of money for the same exact parts!

I have been running the Denso ignition coils with the same above listed p/n since 9/27/21 as verified through my build thread. They are legit, I promise. If you do order them through RockAuto, you will notice that it looks like a Denso sticker was thrown over another sticker, but I don't have any suspicion about them. They have been performing excellent for me. I would buy them again if I had to and not worry, although I don't foresee that being an issue given that they are an official Denso product. Save your funds and buy them over the ones from McGeorge (I too love their site along with ToyotaPartsDeal)

Been running these coils for 6 years no issues. Have not had a problem with any of the Denso or Aisin brand products from Rock Auto. Did complete Timing belt, water pump etc I could see where the Toyota logo was filed off of the water pump as it was sold as Aisin.

Rockauto almost always has legitimate (not knockoff) parts. Not saying there isn't the very occasional counterfeit part being sold but Rockauto is about as safe as they come.

been running them since 21. No issues, and like JoeT4R mine too had stickers on top of stickers, so I was skeptical at first, but have not had an issue

On Rockauto, stick to the name brands and avoid the cheap knock-offs. They do sell quality parts and they are always the first place I shop at. It's obvious which are the cheap parts as they are listed as "Economy" parts. Though a few times I've found the OEM manufacturer part in the "Economy" section!

Thanks guys. I ordered three Denso coils and they should be here today. Without question I stick with Toyota and Denso parts and I have my reasons why. From the right source they are no more expensive than box store brands. My main concern was that the coils might be fakes but a lot of research has led me to believe RA should be a reliable source.

They used to be a forum sponsor on here but not sure if they are anymore. Definitely a legit company.
