Yup The only thing I seen is tapatalk no longer functions.. I don't use apple products but I am seeing members saying that safari may have issues with the forum after the changes. IF you work in IT get out while you can..LOL.. I have 30 years in the field and I am ready to retire..( I Wish)

LOL. My large org went 90% Apple about 8 years ago and i have no problem with their hardware and macOS (after being a Windows dude for the previous 20+ years because I was anti-Apple). I use both platforms daily. I just dislike Safari for a variety of compatibility issues we encounter. Technically, I could retire, but my bill collectors and family wouldn't be as stoked as I would...

Think about all the time you have to work on your rigs and play.. (This is what I keep telling myself)

It doesn't matter if its windows, mac or Linux.. They all have issues.

I need to make it through at least 1 more round of collective bargaining to bump up my salary before retirement. I spent most of my working life in the private sector which netted me nothing. In IT you can practically work forever and AI ain't taking my job anytime soon.....

That's a bummer. I really enjoyed using Tapatalk because it was so easy to upload photos to the forum. Now I have to resort to using my Flickr again. No worries though. Glad to know it wasn't just me having those issues also.

Just wanted to chime in. This is by no means meant to scare people away.
The forum obviously works better on some days and worse on others. Despite that, we have no fear of it just 'coming to an end'.
Mods usually experience the same issues all the members are having, and while we express our concerns, the ugly truth is there's typically not much of a follow up from the Admin/Owners on when or if something will get handled.
This leads to us mods not being able to provide any information on problem solving, next steps, what's coming, etc..

Sorry I couldn't share better information.

Looks like forum software would be the only backup option. Other that that
I've never seen anything available for the average user, other than one page
at a time.

I'm sure the forum has an automatic backup schedule. There would be no worries of losing the forum or sections.

I have seen people mention that they wanted to back up their build thread or the entire forum. I cannot fathom how that would even be possible.

Without a forum to display the data in, it sounds akin to copying the HTML out of a website but having no browser to make sense of it.

Is there way that a forum member can get a copy of the backup of a certain section? say the 3rd gen?

A backup is not going to do anyone any good when the absentee admin just decides to walk away completely.

I am talking about a copy. It will not work as a forum , but it will save all of the data in the 3rd gen subform (or the whole site, if you have unlimited storage. or one thread, if you wanted...) .

I've posted this multiple times, as an example of software that can copy (not back up) the data. HTTrack Website Copier - Free Software Offline Browser (GNU GPL) I have used it to copy entire websites on Windows but I no longer have Windows, I also don't have enough storage space, and the Linux command line version is a bit above my head.
