'nother Check Engine Light Question

About a year ago I had check engine light issues. Thanks to the board a MAF and O2 sensor fixed the problem.

Now about 9 or so months later I have had the check engine light come on twice. Stays on for a day or two, then goes out.

Can I pull a code if the light goes on then out, or only if it stays on? Any ideas why it would stay on for a day or so, 100 miles, and then go off on it's own?

i belive all codes are stored on the computer, so even if the check engine light goes off you can still read the codes.... do you hvae a scanner? or acsess to a scanner?

it will only stay in the memory for so long... good example is w/ my IS i use a two step rev limiter to launch it at the track. This sets off a random misfire code, after a few drive cycles of driving normally it shuts off the CEL, and IIRC resets the code as well. Usually i just reset it before i leave the track w/ the scan tool, so i don't remember if it resets the code for sure. Worse case just pick up a cheap scan tool to use just to read the code ... i think i have even seen them at walmart now.

Thanks guys. No I do not have a scanner so I have to pay to have it done. This time was shortly after a fill-up so I suspect a gas cap. But who knows. I will try and pull it quickly.
