So, went to Wal Mart tonight

Yeah they look like kind of a hybrid between a M/T and a A/T tire. Good siping too. You really have to try to slide sideways in the snow with these. I've had mine for about 2K and so far I can't see any tread wear so hopefully that means they'll last long. I thought they rode a little stiff at first (E rated) but then I realized the shop that mounted them set the psi at 70! I took them down to 30 and they feel really nice now.
 
I got my BFG's for $640. The company who supplies my dealership hooked me up for $160 a tire, under the table. Tipped $30 to the guy who mounted them because he was doing it free.

Thank god for hookups...
 
Discount Tire FTW...

I bought my last 2 sets of tires at Discount. Most I paid was $580 OTD, that was for Yokohama Geolander AT-S in LT235/85/16 for my Taco.

My 4runner has BFG KOs in 265/75/16 now but when they wear out I'll go back to 235/85s, I like the tall skinny tires.

Here's the key to Discount Tires: NEVER take the first price they offer. They will always come down off that price. When they give you a price, tell them you'll think about it, and watch them start dropping the price.

It's worked for me every time.

I can't believe Walmart wouldn't mount 265/75s, what a bunch of douches! It's not like you were asking them to mount 37s, they're freakin one size above stock. What is freakin wrong with this world??

Bummer to hear the Walmart near you wouldn't mount your tires. I went to the Walmart near my house and talked to them about it. I told them I was going one size up and they had no issue with it. I got the GoodYear Authority set out the door for around $800 and love 'em.

They have a nice aggressive look on the car and ride pretty well. They are a bit louder then my old street tires, I haven't found there to be any other degradation in on-road performance.

Off road is nice... very nice. Good in the mud/dirt and they handle the rocks really well.
 
Oh well, it is their loss. I ran across these today and bought them. If I do too much thinking I will never make a decision. Dealer said they were fairly new so not a lot of reviews so far. I will be the guinea pig and try them out. Very aggressive and that was what I wanted. I even like these more than the Authorities or the Duratracs. The best part, $636.71 out the door, free lifetime mounting and balancing, free roadside flat repair. They will be here Friday morning and I will post pics then.

thanks! I just finished building this one. completely custom, 4.5 lb trigger pull and 1" groups at 25 yards with a 4" barrel.

that's not a bad tire either, a buddy of mine runs them on his cj. good price too
 
I also looked into the Goodyear Wrangler Authority's for my 4Runner. The guy at my local Wal Mart said with the lifetime road hazard and free mounting and balancing it would be around $750 total and they would have no problem installing the 265/70/17 on my 2008 4Runner. I have a friend that works at a Wal Mart as a manager and will probably get me 20% off of my purchase. I am still deciding between those Goodyear Authority's and also the Hankook Dynapro MT.

How many miles did you get out of your Toyo's? I have gone through one set on my 4Runner and i got about 80,000 miles out of them and I am on my second set.
 
+1 On DiscountTire. By far the cheapest/best value and great customer service around here. They price match TireRack with shipping too.

In fact, I wont let my truck near a Wal-mart!! :boxer:


Americas/Discount Tire is where I have gone for everytire Ive owned except the 4 on my 4runner now, but I will be going back to Discount next round.

I kinda liked the guys at the local Big O, but wont say that about all of them.

The only thing I ever buy at Walmart is ammo and but since our beloved country has turned socialist, there is no ammo available anymore.
 
Walmart is great. Provides great connivence to the vast majority of the United States. Yes, I do know that they have ruined a ton of small businesses and that is unfortunate.

It's really nice being able to get almost everything in one place.

I hear you. Wally world has pretty good deals on ammo. Last time I went, they had like 20 boxes of 9mm on the shelf. Where was Big 5, they have it. but is like $30 an box for it though; Compare to wally, is only $9 an box

Supra725, I can't find most calibers anywhere in SoCal, no one can keep it on the shelves. I guess everybody is scared that their gun rights are going to be raped from them in CA so they're stockpiling all the ammo they can get before they start serializing bullets and triple the cost of ammo.
