Bummer man.... Glad everyone was ok, look like it was low speed for sure. I'm sure everything will get fixed up like new.
I know I'm probably going to hell for saying this, but I'm still waiting for someone to rearend me, of course only messing up my bumper. That way I can take a check With my luck though, and as high up as my truck sits, some little car is gonna scoot it's front end under my ass end and tires causing me to flip over. Knock on wood, sure hope that doesn't happen.

Yeah for sure man.... It definitely was a small hit, and hardly noticeable until I fold down the tire carrier.
Some have suggested I get a new rear bumper, and go with some armor, but my stock bumper is fine... no damage whatsoever. Not to mention, it's not the direction I'm taking with this truck... I want it to look stock... yet not... so NO armor for me.
I'm still waiting for confirmation from the Insurance Company, as they have not found out yet if the lady who caused the accident even has valid insurance. Her insurance card was current, but she could have cancelled it after getting it done....
I'll keep everyone posted on what happens... I may be looking into getting the hood and front painted at the same time, as I could end up saving on materials if I do them both at once....

Take the school bus next time. Ha!
Glad everyone is OK though.
So if the lady does not insurance, where do you go from there Rob? I am not sure how insurance works north of the Border.

The insurance game works differently from Province to Province, much like your's does from STate to State. In Ontario, we have "No Fault Insurance", meaning, eventhough you're not at fault, your insurance flips the bill for the damage. Your insurance in turn, sues the other person's insurance in order to get payed.
I'm still in the preliminary stages of this matter, but I'm told that should she not have coverage, I'm up the creek without a paddle, and will have to pay out of my own pocket to fix the repairs, OR sue her.... if you even has the money to pay me!
I'll keep you guys all posted on what happens.

Thanks man... I'm hoping I don't get screwed in this. I seem to have the worse luck in life sometimes. Getting sick with my disease the day of my wedding, to living 4 years of hell with 5 major surgeries, then losing my job in January, to getting this one but on my 1st week starting out on my own, I get sick and end up having to take a week off!!! Now this accident.... the second of which involving the rear end of my 4Runner (the last one happened 5 years ago when I was still sick with my disease).
I try to stay positive about things... but it certainly is funny to think of all the crap that has happened to me in the past 6 years. What can you do though.... just gotta keep back! lol!

Well, looks like the lady came through! We're getting the truck repaired, and I may be getting a bulge hood and some other front end work done at the same time!
I'm going to be paying extra for the work, but gonna be saving on a few things! ;)
I'll keep you all posted on what transpires... but should find out on Monday!

Fightman,
I am glad to hear the good news, so to speak. No accident, no matter the outcome, is pleasant.
Dealing with insurance companies is not fun at all. I count my lucky stars that my agent is a childhood friend and steers me in the right direction at all times.

So far, the claims agent I'm dealing with has been great! Even told me to buy an car seat for my kid, as it's been "compromised" in the collision. I sent him the receipt, and he says he sent me the check in the mail! SHould get it in the coming week! ;)

Well, we dropped off the 4Runner yesterday to get the work done. After being promised either a New 4Runner, a Cherokee, or a Ford SUV, Enterprise Rent A Car decided that this would suffice....
I guess the wife is driving this until we get my truck back! I hate Liberty's!!!
I'm still waiting to hear from the shop for an estimate on the front end work I asked to get done....
Looking at getting some rust fixed on the windshield frame, a couple of small dings fixed on the front fenders, and a new Sport Hood.... I'm really hoping that the price will be reasonable!!!!

Amazing 4runner. I really like the wheels. I want to get the same ones, just don't know if i want firefox or dark. I name all my toys and games too lol. Known as my dirt biking bicycle Big Birtha. Still trying to choose what i want to name the 4runner. Anyway, how does it journey on the street with the 3 inches raise and gnarly tires? I strategy to do the same factor to my own, but im inquisitive as to how it impacts the journey on street. Thanks

Rides pretty good on the street, however, I did recently change all my Ball Joints, Tie Rods, and changed all the Stabilizer bushings to Poly Urethane. Corners pretty good for a lifted truck!

Sorry to hear that man, but as you said you may be able to work it out pretty good for yourself in the end. Hope everything goes well for you.
Any damage to your spare or tire carrier?
Side note:
I noticed that you recently did all your tie rods and ball joints. I just ordered all new ball joints, steering rack, poly bushings and inner and outer tie rods, perhaps even a new ps pump as mine squeels every day...
I'm getting the steering rack replaced at a shop because there's no way I'm doing that in my driveway. Do you think it would be worth getting them to replace all the ball joints as well? Any input would be appreciated.
