Well, the saggy ass has finally gotten to me. Thanks to el government (Gave me $4,000 in tuition back:happens
, I am finally able to do some much needed repair and upgrades for my 97 4Runner! :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
So far I have new battery, spark plugs, painted the wheels, installed bushwacker flares, corner lenses, signals, front bumper valence, and re-hurculined the rocker panels. Seems to me those old stock shocks and springs are next.
Here is what I am pretty sure on ordering from Toytech:
(Preface: I have been doing research on OME for a couple years now)
-881's up front with the spacer.
-890's in the rear.
-Diff drop.
-I am having them pre-assembled because I am lazy and Mr. Obama said he would cover the cost.
Who would I talk to about a discount code/can I have one?
As far as opinions are concerned, I am still wondering if 891's in the back might be better for me. Living in Portland, I don't do too much daily driving (280mi.+ bicycle lanes in this city). Most of my driving is done on weekend excursions to Washington which have me carrying from 100-500 pounds of people and gear with me. The gear does not usually come on the trail, it stays at camp. Also, there is the obligatory "hey you have a truck, can you help me move" scenario.
Lastly, there is a possibility of me moving back to L.A. in the fall, so a fully loaded rig with a Uhaul trailer is a possibility. If this is the case, more daily driving would be had in L.A. because sings* "Nobody walks in LA".
At this point I am going with the 890's for ride comfort, but I am open to being convinced to get the 891's
As the signature says, I am already running 285's with minimal rubbing.
Also, at this point, I am not looking into new bumpers. Sliders will come in the next year.

P.S. Anyone in the Portland area have either version of the OME and want to give me a ride around the block a couple times?:girl:
