Are the radiator supports welded in or bolted on?

I hit a guard rail and the corner of my '98 4Runner is pushed in on the drivers corner about 2 inches. It looks very easy to pull out (with the right tools of course) but I was thinking it might be easier to just buy a new entire radiator support since it's less than $80 shipped on carparts.com.

I was hoping it was bolted on rather than welded on since I don't have a welder. Can anyone confirm?

I have a comealong pulling tool and am ready to pull too. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welded in. It's a critical part too since all of the following attach to it: fenders, hood latch, headlights, grill, radiator, and condenser to name a few. The rad support being off alignment can cause a lot of other stuff to be misaligned. Any pics you can post?
 
Here are some pics. Since the radiator support is welded in, let me know how challenging this looks to pull out. The fender will be replaced so I'll have to line things up pretty good. The headlight mount points are pushed sideways on the driver's edge. Also, the inside area in front of the battery seems to be pushed in. The bottom of the radiator support frame is bent slightly too but not too much.

Well, since it won't cost you anything to try pulling on it, that's the way I would start.

Pull the fender off first & start bending. Hold the new fender up to see how you did. Keep going untill the bolt holes on the new fender line up & you should be good to go.

You can always cut the old one out if it doesn't work.
 
Well I'm sorta glad to see I not the only one that's hit something and messed up my radiator support :p hit a fire hydrant and bent the bottom of it pushing it up alon with my radiator. Gl getting it fixed and please post what you ended up doing! Thanks!
 
i bought my 4runner wrecked and i put in a certafit radiator support. The quality of the certafit compared to OEM isn't even close. i have an oem i removed from a junkyard car ready to go in this summer. The certafit sorta fits...i imagine all aftermarket will be the same.

Agreed. Certafit fitment is poor.

I have a fender and turn signal for that repair,I even have rad support if u need
It ,can cut it off with plasma cutter
