I wouldn't jump right on the mod-wagon myself.
Learn the vehicle and decide what your needs are.
Then lift it!
And then tires...
And then... well everything else.

Lift without bigger tires looks odd. Save up to do both or don't do either. Maybe get a nice new head unit for starters? Just that will give you a nice system without any expensive stereo stuff.

never heard of lightforces until this poll. I am pretty happy with my PIAA 520 Fog lights.

if i were to do it all over again id for sure want to do a lift and tires first. But $750 wouldnt quite do that for my plans lol!
I'd have to agree with Mason though, get to know your truck see what you think you need the most for how you use it

I wouldn't suggest lights because you probably won't be using them much anyways. You can get a lift pretty cheap if you buy used.

I'd go for some skids first and wheel it stock!

as much as i want to say lift her i cant because i just got mine a month ago and well shes stock height with 2 12'' subs in the back and an indash dvd player. but its only because i had that stuff from my other truck. if you dont want extremely large tires you could get away with doing them first before you lift it but you can only make them one size bigger before a lift kit is necessary. but like someone mentioned above id hold off for about a month and browse the site and see what fits your needs first. better then spending money on something like a sick roof rack only to never use/need it.

I would save the $750 - you'll need it for the first months worth of gas.

What are your plans for the vehicle? If it's never going to leave the road there is no reason to lift it.

take off all the crap you can break easily- running boards, mud flaps etc... make sure the skids are good- maybe get a cheap set of used sliders and wheel it... Ive yet to lift mine and have had a blast off road with it. the problem with that is- once you see what itll go through stock, youll want to lift it just to push it that much further. That being said- 3inch lift in the works...

Don't because once you start it never ends. Any details on your 4runner?

PFF! HE HE HE! I lifted mine solely for looks! I love the Off-road look, and well, taking it on the trails is fun too! Problem with me....I'm too OCD to drive a rig that is all scratched and dented from wheeling....so I just drive Daily Drive it!
That being said, I'd lift the truck using the Tundra and Landcruiser suspension stuff.....then when you need new tires.....get some bigger rubber! I waited a couple of weeks before getting my tires...and now use the small rubber for the winter.....
