Back Up Camera

I need a good quality back-up camera that won't get damaged from the rain. I have the Pioneer P3300 double din stereo and I have finally came to realize I need the reverse camera. I have been looking for a cheap, yet durable camera. Anyone know of any good ones out there? I want the picture quality to be pretty decent as well.

I got a 1" round camera for $20 from Meritline that will fit in a small hole in the rear bumper so it can be installed in about 10 minutes. The picture is about as good as you can expect from a 1" camera and it only needs 12 v power and video to be hooked up. The camera is waterproof but the connectors are not so I put a piece of plastic tubing over them and filled it with caulk to seal it up. DealExtreme has them too.

I had an eclipse on my Sequoia, but I can't remember what I paid for it. But it had an excellent picture even at night. And it never failed during the 3 years I owned it.

Yes mine does, but I think the last time I looked online at Pioneer their camera was way to expensive for just being a small camera. I'll check out your link though.

Thanks! I have heard of eclipse before and just now remembered it. I'll check them out!

I wish I could put mine in the rear bumper, but I don't want to drill into mine..

I have worked as an installer for the better part of 9 years and the backup camera that we used that worked pretty much flawlessly was the BOYO brand of backup cameras. I installed one in my fathers pickup truck about 5 years ago and its still working like the day that I installed it.

Amazon.com: BOYO VTL375HD HD Rear View Camera: Automotive

this camera runs about $150. it is worth every penny and looks like its supposed to be there

Back Up Camera

Hi,
Recently installed this Sony XA-R800C Backup Rear View Rearview Camera in my 08' SR5 paired with a JVC Double Din Receiver. Paid less than $80. Works great day or night, been thru lots of rain recently in the North East as well as a couple trips thru the car wash. Fairly easy to install. Really happy with it.

How does the camera do at night? I do a lot of loading and unloading of my trailer in the mornings when it is dark and at night.

Do you have a few pictures of it on your vehicle and in use inside the cab? Thanks.
