Headlight restorers on inside gauges??
Has anyone ever used one of these headlight clarity restore solutions or other products on the clear plastic over the inside gauges??
The clear plastic over my gauges has got dulling fine scratches and I'd love to clean'em up.
I've tried that Meguiars PlasticX (or similar name) and Klasse AIO and it didn't really work.
Any successes out there??

Try this stuff, it has worked miracles for me. The cleaner (#17) goes on first, then you do the polish (#10). I never tried it on guage plastic, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on that as well.
Edit: I would actually skip the cleaner (#17) on guage plastics just because it's a little abrasive. I'd go straight to the polish (#10) and see how that works.

Thanks guys. I found the answer and it was in my garage the whole time.
Meguiars 205 polish.
Searched back through some old threads and someone mentioned they had success with it, tried it, and it worked great. I only spent about 15 minutes on it by rubbing it in with a finger or two with a microfiber and then buffed it out.
Its likely very similar to the product you recommended.
To do it 100% correct you should probably remove the entire piece but I'm not willing to take my dashboard apart for this.
I also have Meguiars 105 which is far more aggressive so I tried the 205 and it worked fine.
Thanks.

[QUOTE=zimm;1242255]I used the 3M headlight restoration kit on my Harley fuel gauge that I couldn't even see through. It's scary to scrub the plastic until it's opaque, but the kit really does work. Next time I have my dash apart, I'm doing the gauge cover in my truck.
wow, the difference. How come you didn't just buy a new gauge at that point though?

It's pulling the plastic around the cluster, disconnecting 2 electrical connections and unbolting the cluster and removing the electrical connections. Then, its in your had.

Why go through the trouble, just buy one for 30$ shipped. It's gonna cost almost that much to buy the product.

I used that same 3m kit on my headlights right after I blacked the inside bezel out and it truly does work amazingly! I was pressed for time and didnt do the absolute best job but I followed up with some platic-x and they look great.
