Okay, so I have had my 05 sport edition 4x4 V8 for a few months now.

Some of the issues I have are the dash cracking, a weird transmission clunk thing, an alignment issue, and some of the interior lights on the clock/mpg display are out. Also I need a new amp and sub because the sub is blown.

I see the sticky about the dash and what I can do to fix it are.

I need help with this clunk thing. When I'm at a stop and I let off the brake it clunks really bad and then starts moving. I think I have read that its common in the full time 4x4 t4r's...any truth to this?

Does anyone know where to buy a new stock JBL sub? I know its all connected to the amp in a big enclosure...I had to cut the wires on the actual sub just so I could listen to the radio.

I saw a thread with the replacement and how to, to change out the interior ights.

The alignment...I tried to have one done but they said the camber? bolts were seized and they could not do the full alignment.

Also I now have this weird popping noise. I am going to try and locate it and start by greasing all the zerks. It has 112,xxx miles so I think it might be the ball joints or the cv axles. I will keep this thread up to date as I find more isurs and solutions.

I LOVE the t4r...I'm just trying to play catch up on all the maintenance that has not been done on the truck for quite some time. The previous owner did not exactly care about it. I did pick it up for a decent price. I already changed the oil, air filter, cabin filter, and spark plugs. Definitely the EASIEST plug change I have ever done!

Common on a lot of vehicles:

-Exhaust manifolds
-Front calipers
-Front wheel bearings
-Sometimes low gear actuator if it was used infrequently
-The air pump/secondary air injection system is getting more common

You may want to have the timing belt and water pump done too. If it was not done yet, it is overdue. It is recommended at 90,000 miles.

The lights in the clock/A/C panel are very easy to do also. There are 3 bulbs in the back. Cost about $6-8 here in the states. Open the door under the clock panel and remove the 10mm screw and the piece pops off. Get a small flat head screw driver and turn your bulbs 1/4 turn to remove. X2 on the timing belt. I've got all that and the plugs still to do on mine.

I know the timing belt was done...there is a sticker that says it was replaced. IIRC it was done at 82,000. I can only hope the water pump was done at the same time.

Thanks for the heads up about the lights. Is there a thread with any part numbers around? Tried searching and didn't find any results.

Also who do you guys use for the HID retrofits around here? I also want to switch out to LED tail lights. Look way better IMO.

I plan on installing a basic CAI, cat back exhaust, and is there a tuner company you guys like for the v8? I'd prefer custom tunes but, if there isn't any available canned tunes will work foe me. Just wanting a little extra power and everyone's opinion about the subject of tuners.

Cold air intakes in these trucks are a waste. The stock intake is already a true cold air intake. Just remove the Hydrocarbon Filter, drop in a high flow filter, and you're set.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip! I just removed the carbon filter and will be looking for a aftermarket dry element filter. Saves me about 300 bucks.

Don't know the part number on the light bulbs but I just went to the dealer and told them I wanted all 3 bulbs for the A/C and outdoor temp display. One is green and 2 are clear. The green one does the reset/mode button. Not sure why green because it doesn't show up green.

That's what I'm going to do. I will probably get the AFE Pro Dry filter. I had a K&N but once it got dirty I took it out. I don't want to risk over oiling it and fouling my MAF sensor.
