Need List of Dealer Changable Options

Hi all,

I plan on having the dealership change some of the settings on my new 4Runner.

I plan on changing the way the doors lock (or don't) when you press the lock button while any door is still open.

Before I do that I'd like to know exactly what other features can be changed by the dealer and what the different options are for each.

I think this would be a good aid for anyone planning on having a dealer make changes since they can have ALL the changes done at once.

So, does anyone know what settings the dealer can change on our 4Runners?

Off the top of my head:

1. Door unlock with key fob - Factory is 1 click on the key fob for unlocking the drivers doors, 2 unlocks all doors. Dealer can change so that 1 click unlocks all doors

2. Automatic light shutoff - Factory default is to turn off the head lights (if you leave them on) after 30 seconds. Dealer can change it to turn of instantly.

You can look in your manual because it lists some of the things the dealer can change.

I'll try to add more if things pop into my head.
 
Door locking via the position of the shifter can be changed too. I believe the default is for the doors to lock when the vehicle is put into gear and unlock automatically when it is put into part. The dealer can change this .... details are listed in your manual.
 
Is it possible to change the infuriating feature where, when you unlock the car but don't get to it to open a door in so many seconds, it locks itself back up again? I looked through the manual and couldn't find anything on it. Can't tell you how many times I have unlocked the car, picked up something and wrestled it toward the car, only to have it lock itself up just as I am getting there. It is nuts. Somebody tell the Japanese engineers that when I unlock the car it is because I want it...unlocked!

I'm not sure if it's possible to eliminate the feature, but I think the dealer can adjust it so that the delay is longer.

Its a safety issue. If you accidently unlock your doors while walking away.. or something like that.. it'll automatically rearm itself in 30secs. I think thats a great feature.. and plus your not going to unlock your car from an upstairs room and walk down to the car expecting it to be still unlocked.
 
Thanks all but I was hoping for something like a complete list of all changeable features and their options.

Hopfully it will look something like this fake example...

- Door Auto Lock Timer.
Value: 30 Seconds - Default
Adjustable from 30 seconds to 3 minutes in 30 second increments.

I mean, I'd like to adjust all the settings at one time since my dealership will, no doubt charge me for doing it. But in order to do that I have to know what settings can be changed.

I just had the dealer change mine so i can open all doors w/one click of the remote at no charge. I changed the (put it into gear) lock myself. the directions for that are in the manual. I want to know why they have the stupid roll down the window but not up feature on the remote.

My guess is so you cant roll up the window without making sure someone or something isnt blocking it. Allthough I would assume it has the same auto reverse/stop feature the sunroof has.
