For sure, it might cost more to install it than the acutally parts. Worth a shot to be honest. I found mine on Offerup. Most Taco owners upgrade their suspension so they'll practically be giving these away.

It seems like I read a lot of people getting the 5100s from Tacoma but all of the TRD Tacoma components that I’m seeing online are looking like 4600 (non-adjustable sets). The only part numbers I can grab from them are 48530-04110 and 48510-04190 which seem to be coming up at 4600.
Anyone have some thoughts on this? I want to get some new suspension to replace the 04 170k miles setup, but it’s look like I could get 5100 new for not much more.

Just depends on what your goals are and how much you want to spend. You can get used Tacoma yellow body bilstiens for pretty cheap off craigslist and then get Moog FJ rear springs from Rock Auto for around $70. You can easily come in under $500 or less for the whole setup.
If you are willing to spend a little bit more and go with the 5100s, then do it.

That's correct, as far as I know the Tacoma TRD Offroad setup uses the 4600 shock. I researched the difference between 5100s and 4600s pretty extensively before doing my suspension upgrade (linked in my sig) and everything I could find indicates the two are essentially identical except for that the front 5100s are height-adjustable. Some here will say the 5100 is valved differently but again, there's no evidence I can find to support that. If anyone has definitive proof that the valving or anything else other than the color and front settings are different, please bring it on. That could influence what direction I go next time.

I've already got a pair of used FJ coils and it looks like complete 5100 setups are around $370 on Amazon. Extra $60 for new strut mounts, but I can reuse OEM mounts and coils.
What do you think? That seems like the best move to not break the bank but also have a good foundation to build on

I found an entire 2020 Taco setup with everything for around $300 (could probably negotiate lower) on CL but also the Amazon Bilstein 5100 kit looks like a great deal at under $400. However, because I have the V8... would I need to get new front coils too?
Never had a car worth upgrading so I want to do it right

I've got stock 2019 front Tacoma Bilstien shocks with the Taco coils. Front end on my 4runner with the V8 feels great. I still feel the rear Taco Bilstien shocks are slightly under-valved (aka soft) for the 4Runner but they work just fine once you have the correct bushing for the lower shock mount.

Any spacers or anything to level it out? Thinking I could get some Taco front struts for cheap and get 5100 for the rear to pair with the FJ coils but don't want it sitting all weird.

The rear FJ coils are a little taller than stock. See pics in the “X-REAS delete...” post linked in my sig.

No spacers. I'm currently running 265/70/17 and they have more than enough room. Actually looking at going to a 285/70/17 sometime soon and see what needs done from there.

Agreed on the rear shocks. I might add airbags inside the springs and hope it stiffens things up.

Good for whoever wants to lay out huge $$ on suspension components but I don’t get it, especially b/c the performance is the same as similar full price options. Plus, it’s not like a shirt you can return if you don’t like it so I wanted to minimize the amount I was risking.

It took a little while but circling back to this, I picked up the lower mile set I had posted about earlier. Fronts were 48510-04190 and rears 48530-04110. Also got the 9.810G bushings and a set of FJ coils for the rear as well new top mounts for the front. Busy work schedule, etc, I only got around to doing the front swaybay bushings and end links. While out of town I had a shop install the struts, shocks, and springs. They called saying that the rears wouldn't work, even w/ the new bushings but he could get me a set of the Bilstein B6 shocks and put them in as everything was already taken apart. I wasn't going to be back for 3 more days at that point and didn't want to pay for the same labor twice, so I said go ahead. I was worried about how it was going to ride w/ the FJ coils and B6's in the rear but I was pleasantly surprised. I gained about 2" of lift and it rides smoothly.

I recently got the Taco rears but rather than the hourglass bushing, I purchased 9.8140R, which is the same but the outside is straight edged. Was that part of the reason the other ones "would not work" or is there another reason that they wouldn't work?
I'm excited to put these on but I want to make sure these bushing will work before I pull the package open and start tearing apart my rear suspension.

I'll be honest, I'm really not sure. Everything I read shows that they should've. But at the time I was out of the country and so didn't bother pushing it. He was also changing my oil, transfer case fluid, fluid in both diffs, both front cv axles, one front caliper, and the front pads and rotors. I wanted him to just keep working on it so it would be done by the time I got back.

Hey guys, gonna pull the trigger. Purchased myself a 2017 TRD off-road suspension and 07 FJ cruiser. Also got the rear eyelet bushing replacement.
Question now is.. I want to give the my 03' V6 2wd a lil bit more lift than the 1.5f/1r with the set-up. Can I use a .75in spacer front and 1.5in rear without having to change any other suspension components. ie. upper control arms/ sway bar/ end links etc....
Thanks in advance. and yes I've read all 28 pages trying to get all info i need. Now just looking for people with experience.
