I have a request to anyone who has a telescopic climb in their trucks. How much
adjustment does it give, from fully collapsed to fully extended?

One of my only gripes with my vehicle is the comfort of the cockpit. Like many have stated, when seated comfortably the steering wheel feels too far away.

I'm seriously contemplating swapping in a telescopic column but I want to be sure it will produce enough adjustment.

Thanks in advance for any information you guys can provide.

I have the telescope column, but when extended the damn wheel doesn't tilt enough, one of the only gripes with mine...that, the rattling sunroof, and the overly sensitive steering at highway speeds(plan to adjust camber to compensate). I wished my wheel would tilt more...

Do you have an idea of how much adjustment it gives you?

Yeah it's about 6 or so inches. However, the tilt angle gets worse for me because it doesn't matter if you telescope or not, angle is the same. But yeah it probably moves about 6 inches

No worries, I thought 6 inches seemed like a stretch. I received the one I bought on EBay today and it looks like it's gives about 3 inches of adjustment or so.

I'll tag on to this one. Has anyone swapped out their standard column for a telescoping column? I was testing our so many 4runners in such a short period of time, I got caught up in the benefits of the one I purchased and forgot it did not have a telescoping wheel until a month after I bought it.

My issue is I am tall and long-legged (6'4'', 34" inseam). If I have the seat back far enough to make my legs comfortable, the wheel is setting too far forward, and I have to slouch forward to drive, and my arms are at an awkward angle. After about 30 minutes it gets old.

I have some quote requests out to some local parts yards to obtain a telescoping steering column and surrounding plastic assembly, but I was curious if anyone had a write-up op on how to do this. I don't have any special tools to pull the wheel, so may need to find a body shop to do it.
