LED License Plate Lights
I replaced my license plate lights with LEDS and noticed that they flicker intermittently. Anyone else ever experience this? If so, what'd you do to Fix?
I've tried multiple types, same deal. Should all be 12v no?

I recently had to replace one of my LED tag lights and right after, the other one started flashing intermittently. Not flickering, but flashing on/off at about a one-second interval. Not sure if that's what you're saying or not. I removed the bulb and reversed in the socket and it's been working okay since. I have no idea why that helped.

Interesting. I thought flipping it would make it not work at all. I will try. I checked some other forums based on a Google search, there is a lot of resistor talk. Might just put reg. bulbs back.

you know what, its the led, you get what you paid for, ive gone thru alot of the ebay leds, especially the newer ones i have tried out, 5050 smd worked the best, but lately the new stuff i got off ebay, they all decide to crap out within a few weeks. back then they work pretty long like 5 years. i tried the 20 tiny smd and they didnt last more than 1 week, bright tho. so i just gave up and purchase these https://www.theretrofitsource.com/le...ledriving.html
best thing i did, lasting pretty long and its bright enough.

said above, I've had great luck with TRS, but for standard leds, I like diode dynamics much better

i went osram leds, and phillips on another car, they work better. was thinking about switching my osram to phillips to see a difference in the spread of light.

@ Marfy
try the stock bulbs first, if they flicker the sockets may be the issue.
I recommend the Philips 194 LEDs, they're readily available at Pep Boys and they always have online discounts, currently 15% so you're looking at $11 and change for a pair. I've tried the Sylvania/Osram Zevo 194s before, pretty identical in brightness/color but they're more expensive, $10 each.

So far I have had good luck with the JDM ASTAR LEDs. Good 6000k white light and quite bright. Only problem I had was the ones I bought for my map lights are too bright so if I need it i just turn on the passenger side. I like the overall brightness if I am messing around inside at night though. Kind of thinging about buying a set of red ones though. But probably not...

I've had generic ebay LEDs in my license plate for almost 2 years.
Maybe exactly what some of the other people are saying the quality might be worse.

Just to close the loop on this for future searches, I bought higher quality lights and they don't flicker...makes sense.

I replaced my interior, reverse, and license plate bulbs with VLEDS.com. a little on the expensive side but no issues at all.

Mine did that, then one died. I put the old stock bulbs in. The LEDs light the plate up to well anyway.

Warrenty
Most important is Warrenty.
LED lighting heads like Philips, VLEDS & TRS offer standard Warrenty. Piece of mind

I had some LED bulbs and they were doing the same thing. They were some cheap LED bulbs I purchased about 8 years ago and they were a real blue color. I found www.superbrightleds.com and I purchased the 4100k natural white LED bulbs for $14 for the pair and they look great. They are a huge difference over the other ones I had. If you are looking for a nice and great price for the LED bulbs look at them. They are located in Missouri and have fast shipping also. I ordered mine on a Friday and they were delivered to my house on that following Monday. Check them out! They also offer a 2 year warranty and will replace them free of charge if one goes out before that time.
