The sticky armor thread is a bit dated. A lot of the links no longer work. I was also able to find some new bumpers that did not make the list.

So far I found

Am I missing any?
Are there any light steel versions?
Are there any steel tube bumpers?

I am not looking at doing a lot of rock crawling, I don't need anything super strong. Weight is my main concern. I need to add a winch and would prefer something a bit stronger than the plastic stock bumper.

Relentless Fabrication has a sick recently-redesigned bumper. It weighs the usual 115lbs but the Demello is one of the lightest steel bumpers at like 80lbs I think.

I researched and found a post on T4R.org where somebody who had a Demello bumper said that it weighed 80lbs so I went with it, although I was surprised. Another post on toyota120 stated they weighed 105lbs which sounds more reasonable to me.

In the end, I've always had the opinion that steel bumpers are worth their weight if you plan to smash stuff with it.
 
I don't plan one smashing anything :)

I have two issues. My current stock bumper is smashed in the corner, and I need a winch. I plan to do more over-landing vs 4-wheeling/rock crawling. I want better angles and strong enough to stand up to a tree branch or two. Because I plan on camping with my wife and kids, ever pound helps. Payload is only 1,260. I will upgrade the suspension, but I still don't want to go way beyond GVWR.

Demello, Relentless, a few others might make you an aluminum version of their bumpers if you are willing to spend some extra money. Worth a shot to ask anyway if you don't like the 3 current ones.

If you like hybrid tube/ plate bumpers, image search "Pelfreybilt Tacoma Hybrid Bumper" I think that bumper looks pretty slick and would love to see them build a version for the 4Runner. It might be a bit lighter than the other options.

Other than those options, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Metaltech might be making a new bumper for the 4th gens. Their full tube bumper they made never really caught on to the 4th gen crowd so I'm guessing that's why they dropped it. Maybe we will see a lightweight option from them? Who knows.
 
I have been looking for the same and will be going with either hefty fab or pelfrey. I really wish someone would make a rear aluminum bumper, some of the steel front bumpers (shrockworks etc.) look better but that is alot of weight to hang off a 4runner.
 
Just curious, are all the front bumpers constructed with the "wings" totally unsupported?
