Questions about rear springs for Rancho Quick Lift

Hello!

Love the forums.

I have purchased the Rancho Quick lift struts on the front of my 06 Sport 2wd V8.
Part numbers: RS999914 AND RS999913, REAR SHOCKS ARE RS999305.

From Rancho's website:
Rancho Loaded quickLIFT Complete Strut Assembly - quickLIFT™ LOADED - Leveling Systems - Rancho(R) Performance Products

They are the 9000 series with the adjustable shocks. I purchased the rear 9000 series shocks, however, Rancho does NOT have a rear coil spring.
They only offer rear coil spring spacers. I prefer lifted coils. Not lifted in the reat as it is stock, just level with the Quick Lift system in front.

Of those who used Rancho Quick lifts, what manufacturer/model coil springs did you use and what lift size did you choose? And why that lift size?
How do they ride compared to the front strut assemblies?

Thank you in advance

Pick the coils that will work with your weight requirement.

My experience was that the RanchoQuik lift was not 2.5" in the front so the +1.5" in the rear was too much rake for my preference.

I didnt like the 1.5" spacer, mine was just over by 1/8"...then you have another 3/8" from the coil spring isolator/bump-stop.
Then i started adding heavy stuff the the front.

I usually have a bunch of crap in the back so i wanted a little more spring rate.
I have had the SAW 1.5 for a few years, i like them, i believe they are now the Wheeler's T12 coil. 12% rate increase. Slightly firmer.

Dobinson has a couple different lift and rate options. 2003-2009 | Dobinsons Direct
Can call them.

And OME has 2895E. 1.25" lift

Thanks Backoff!

Just to clarify, you are saying to go with a smaller lifted coil. Like a 1.5” or 1.25”
Is that correct?

I don’t have any bumpers, winches nor plan on installing those items.

If I install lifted coils, do I need extended brake lines for the front or rear or both?

Thanks for the information.

Again some personal preference.
Do you like a front lowered/raked stance? Or do you like it more level?

1.25" OME coils with the 10mm trim packer might be a more level option. For the rear.

Should not 'need' ext brake lines.

May consider...
Front sway-bar relocate kit... bar may hit the front coils after lift.
Rear 2nd gen T4R sway bar links... 1 inch longer/ budget mode... or you can get the $150 Superdooper links.

Understood, thank you for your responses, BackOff!

I didnt know about the sway bar kits, where do you recommend to purchase front and rear kits?
BUDGET MODE OR SURE

I have tried searching for hours to see if anyone else has posted information, I could not find anything.
I appreciate your input!

Cool, glad I am not needing brake lines. When would I need to get extended brake lines? After 2.5" and above or 2.0" and above?

Level is what I am going for. To keep caster in check or feeling the same with the lift installed I dont want to feel like I am floating.

What about UCA's? Will the Rancho lift come back into factory oem alignment specs WITHOUT ucas?

What about OME 1.5" coils, mixing with the Rancho front suspension. Will they ride similar?

Thanks in advance for answering all my questions!

Not many run the Rancho stuff, or at least admit to it.
I have used it for a long time, only ever had a problem way back in the late 1980's where i broke a couple 5000 on a lifted Toy PU.
Never had any issue with the 9000 style.

You can get the 2nd gen links anywhere...eBay/Amazon/RockAuto.
Some here had the moog links insta-flash rust.

The RS9000 is adjustable dampening/firmness so you can play with the over-all ride/feel with the 1-9 setting. Its just dampening no height change.
I really like the remote incab control, don't need it its just neat... You can adjust on the fly.

The castor may be on the low/light side without UCAs.
Depending on tire/wheels may also rub the UCA on the tire.

After you lift it, max out the rear suspension and look at the brake lines to see if you need extended lines. Seems like a few bent the bracket for better fit.
I didn't need rear ext brake lines, results may vary...i have a set in the 'to-do' box in the garage.

Happy to be of assistance.
Most of the suspension stuff is the same as any other shocks as far as lifting.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and recommendations!

While I was waiting your response, I found Wheeler's T12 coils for the rear 1.5" lift.
I am leaning towards them.
Any thoughts on those coils?

That's the same coils i run, its just the new version.
If you do a 1.5"-2.0" rear coil the back end will be higher than the front.
I would maybe think about a 1/4" spacer in the front drivers side instead of the rear 10mm trimpacker. For that driver side lean.

keep an eye on the inner CV joint boots too, they like to leak after you lift.
Can fix/add band clamps to the boot or you can do the diff drop kit to level the axles more.

Last thought 265/75r/16 is about as big a tire as you can go without more mods.

Have fun!
