Which interior is best...for me?

Hello everyone. I have a 2007 V8 Sport that has the Liqucell leather in black. I believe it was a port add on if I am not mistaken. Any chance the original cloth was left underneath?

Overall it is in great condition except for the wear to the drivers side seat bottom. I am live in Florida and enjoy surfing and other beach related activites.

For this reason I have considered swapping to the cloth interior since it seems like it would be easier to take care of and less maintenance. What are your opinions/experiences?

Highly doubt it is under. I replaced my cloth with the leather. I received a good amount of money for the sport cloth back then.

I went through this earlier in the year hunting down a set of replacement factory seat cloth for my '04 Sport.

I'll tell you right now that if you want factory cloth seats, your options are light grey & tan. You're going to find that the NOS (New Old Stock) two-tone Sport Edition Cloth interior components are mostly out of production with very few, if any still sitting in a warehouse.

IF you do want the two-tone Sport Edition cloth, your best bet is going to be finding a junked vehicle with good condition seats and buying them up and washing the seat covers before reinstalling them on your vehicle. I found a driver's seat from a wrecked Sport in Vegas that fit my needs (I still need to actually finish that project... the washed covers are still hanging next to the washer/dry... DOH!).

I have cloth and the vehicle spends almost every weekend on the beach overnight fishing 1...2 days...3 sometimes more. I dont have an issue with the cloth at all. I think its better than leather. Just my experience.

Seldom am I moved to sing the praises of upholstery but the black SE cloth is one of the most underrated (and likely underappreciated) features of the 4th Gen Sport Edition. This stuff is nearly indestructible and a quick pass with the vacuum leaves it looking good. Following that with a damp-cloth wipedown is all that's needed to have it look great, and that's after 15 years and 230K miles. Same with the door panel inserts. I would follow the advice above and look for a wrecked SE with the black cloth.

This is a pic I took just now so not after cleaning or anything.

I thought those were the cloth seats from a Sport?......or is there a difference?

You’re correct, the pic I posted is of the SE (Sport Edition) seats.

I have an '04 SE with the cloth seats. I don't recall an option for leather except in the Limited and I don't think that was an option, it came standard with leather. I love the cloth and I don't like riding in cars with leather.

I had an '89 V6 SR5 pickup with cloth seats. I sold it in '04 with 194K miles and the seats were in excellent condition. I had my '91 Camry with the velour seats until 09/2020. All the seats were in very good condition. We have the '99 Sienna with cloth seats, also in excellent condition.

I grew up with vinyl seats, where in the summer your skin would stick to it after it had been sitting in the sun. No thank you, cloth seats for me all the way.
