Any Hacks for improving Tall Driver Headroom

We recently bought an ‘04 SR5 (with sunroof…part of the problem here) as a third vehicle since our daughter will be driving soon.

I’m 6’6” and the headroom is terrible. I have to completely slouch or sit at an angle to see out the windshield. The seats are non-power, if that makes a difference.

I’m just curious if anyone else out there has found a fix for the poor headroom. Replace seats with something aftermarket?

I won’t be driving the 4Runner more than a few times a months so it is something I can tolerate. But if there’s a fix I may consider it doing it as it will make longer drives more tolerable.

I'm only 5'9" and have this issue. Sunroof sucks up a lot of headroom. Wish there was an easy easy to drop the seat like 1/2" but there isn't.

@BoulderT4R - I’m 99% sure there’s been a thread here about this with something that at least helped so maybe search as many keywords as you can think of. Google it too since there are other similar forums, FB groups, etc.

Yea 6'6 would be tough, i imagine in most midsize SUVs.
Im 6'2 - 6'3. Im generally most comfortable with my knees bent to about 90 degrees and letting them fall out. I sit closer than expected to the steering wheel

This position in the 4r is actually the most comfortable position for me vs any other car ive driven. I have always driven 4r (a 95, 03, and now 08).

My cushion has worn out, so I have a seat pad on it and im really tight with the headroom now

I got spacers for the front seat bolts. It helps angle the seat back a little and opened up some headroom for me. I'm 6'5" and its still a little tight but helped.

Trade it for a GX470. LOL. Much more headroom.
