Best oil filter for '05 SR5?
My '05 SR5 has 179k miles. I change the oil & filter every 6k miles or so. I use Amsoil oil and their Wix filter.
Which oil filter does this forum recommend? I may begin replacing the filter every 2-3k miles just to be mega-extra certain the engine is using clean oil.
Thanks.

OEM, it's the best filter you will find and it's not expensive

I’ve always ran the TRD filter. PN - PTR4300080.
Better filter than OEM but can be pricey from stealership.

Ten-packs of OEM filters can typically be had on parts.toyota.com for ~$4 each. I order them from a local dealer who discounts their online orders (some do, some don't) and pick them up. For parts and such, a standard I use is not just to look at differences, the key is significant, measurable differences. This filter or that filter, oil, whatever - does the price and/or inconvenience provide enough of an improvement to justify that choice? Most times, not. I buy OEM whenever the price is competitive or even close but currently have 1A Auto LCAs and just bought their ignition coils and tie rods.
