XREAS and Air Leveling Suspension?

Guys,

I am a little confused about something.... I purchased a 08' Limited V8 T4R and XREAS was an optional feature that was added, yet, my car did NOT come with Air Leveling Suspension. So, my car has XREAS but no Air Leveling Suspension. From what I have been reading, was the Air Leveling Suspension suppose to be standard on my car or the limited's?

From what I understand, if you do not have the two buttons for the leveling suspension on the center console, then you do no thave xreas. They come as a package on the 07-08 models.

Well, see this is where I am confused, because it shows on the vehicles' purchase sticker that I have XREAS as a package, but inside the car, there are no two buttons for air leveling suspension. I hope there isn't some kind of mistake by the manufacturer or dealership, cus I would hate to be missing a feature that I paid for. Take a look at the picture below...

You should have that leveling suspension. That's very strange, even the brochure says that it comes standard. Is your's a limited? Maybe the air suspension only comes standard on the limited. I just noticed that on Toyota.com, if you build a 4runner to spec with the xreas, the custom brochure that you print out, says nothing about the air suspension. Maybe they got rid of it? Lots of folks report problems with it after a gentle search on this board.

I love your signature!

I don't think it was forgotten, I just don't think it really comes with it anymore. If you go to toyota.com and build your own, you might find that it seems to be omitted from the data, including the eBrochure. I think it's entirely intentional.

Man, I hope so...i'll check the site as well, and ask my dealer too. I mean, I dont really care about the Air Leveling Suspension, but if I paid for it and it wasn't there, then I'd be pissed as all hell! Thanks for your help osxcode.

The X-REAS does NOT automatically come with the rear air suspension option. However, if you did have the rear air suspension option you would have the X-REAS suspension automatically included. By what you have shown, you have only the X-REAS and no Rear Air Suspension.

You can do a self-inspection to see if you have the air suspension by just looking and seeing the bladders. You would also have a HI-N-LO marker showing an outline of a 4Runner with a light in your tachometer. See photo.

So, I guess the question now is, "is air leveling suspension standard or optional on the limited models?" Because I have the limited model, but no air leveling suspension.

No, it is not standard on the Limited. I have a 2008 Limited and had to add the X-REAS and the Rear Air Suspension when I ordered it. You can always get a rear air suspension added however, so all is not lost. It would just have to be an aftermarket. I'm not sure if Toyota installs them after purchase, maybe someone else will chime in with a definitive answer.

X-REAS is optional on the Limited trim. Rear air suspension with X-REAS is optional and exclusive to V8 Limiteds. Limiteds can have the standard regular suspensions just like SR5, X-REAS like Sport Edition (V6 or V8), or rear air suspension with X-REAS (V8 only).

Rear air suspension with X-REAS is $950 MSRP. X-REAS only is $450. Spoiler is $200. Moonroof is $900.

Thanks Uneek, that makes scense now...so im not loosing my mind on this matter...lol. Anyhow, not that i needed rear air control, but the two empty slots in the console now give me room for a few "surprises". Thanks again everyone!

I asked my dealer about adding the factory air suspension to my 03 SE and was told that it would be prohibitively expensive.

HAHA!! "Prohibitively expensive". I like that. It's a nice way of saying you'd take it up the ass!

Yea, and considering I was at the dealer to have them replace my alternator I was already a little sore. If you know what I mean.
