04 4runner air filter placement question

Ok- I over reacted... and tore the liner out of my front wheel wheels due to rubbing of my tires. I have a Rancho RS 9000 XL Quick Lift with 285's. after my spasticness removed the passenger side, I noticed the air intake tube is now exposed. Is this really bad? In the winter/ rain is water going to go into my enguine? What do you guys do when you install an aftermarket front bumper with your liners?

Thanks in advance!

B

I would worry about it... While not the same scenario exactly I'd have a look at this Prado article, get the liner back in and modify it like at the bottom of this page.
