I feel you guys. you can Clean the area, wet sand the edges and use OTC clear's to patch it up. This would ensure that the damage doesn't eventually get to the primer and tean to the metal where rust emerges. However, this method isn't perfect.
Place like Maaco can do a respray, but Maaco claims to offer value, so don't expect a great job.
You can also try vinyl wrapping the roof. I am not sure if it would be cheaper or not.
The only right way to do it is to sand down the roof and get it repainted properly.
I recommend doing the clean, wetsand, clear first as it is the most affordable option and it will at least provide "Protection" for the area
