Any idea on cost of adding leather to our seats?

What would it cost for me to have leather seats in my 4-Runner? I've seen some people add aftermarket leather seats, just wondering what it will cost and what options do I have?

Is this something most dealerships can offer? Does Toyota make aftermarket leather seat covers or anything?

With the dryness of winter air now here, getting the static charge shock really sucks when you get out and close your door. I miss the leather I had in my last vehicle!

There are a few options you can take. You can buy a kit and install it yourself, which is what I did, but I really don't recommend doing it. You can buy the kit and have a local trim shop install the kit for you, or you can contact a local trim shop and they'll get the kit for you and install it as well. The kit + installation usually run anywhere from 1000-1600 depending on who does it. If you take it to the dealer, they're likely to take it to a trim shop to do it and charge you more to make a profit.

Check Classic Soft Trim and Katzkin for more info on having a trim shop install a kit. Katzkin also lets you buy the kit and install it yourself or you can have it installed by a professional. You can also customize your seats (two-tone, perforated, suede). I have a kit from Auto Leather Inc. that I got off eBay.

It's cheaper to install it yourself, but it is a hassle, and after doing it myself, I would rather pay someone else to do it.
