How fast

How fast have you gone before switching to 4WD? Manual says below 55 mph.

Heh. I could have sworn it was 60. I've done it at 60. Anything over I get the beep.

I find above 5mph but the slower the better (as a rule) is the answer for the best transition 2hi to 4hi.

The official answer is 62mph IIRC. The "real" number is below 100kmh (62.5mph). Remember the T4R is based on a vehicle that sells more in the rest of the world than the US. Most of it's design limits are expressed in Kg's and KM/H's and then converted...

Probably in areas that don't have much snow, but more dirt instead. Thus the rust issues.

Does it automatically shift to 4WD after you decrease your speed to 55 mph?

You have full time 4WD with the V8. I/we have selectable 2WD or 4WD, which was exactly why I bought the V6.

85 mph in 4WD without any problems for me last winter. Isn't it only recomended to SHIFT into 4WD under 55, but no limit for driving speed? Thats the way I read into user manual.

Once 4WD is engaged, you're golden.

Dude, my T4R (V6) is switchable between 2WD and 4WD.

If I want to switch to 4WD, it has to be done while driving below 55mph.
