So I am looking at getting a set of 2011 FJ springs and then getting a set of 5100s all around.
I am thinking this should give me about 2" of lift in the front and .5" in the rear.
Do you think I would be able to fit 285s down the road? or will I have to throw top off spacers in? I already have 1.5" wheel spacers. Thanks guys!

You could fit them, would require a good bit of trimming. Here's what I would do if you're set on 285s. 5100s set at highest notch on the front. Use the fj coils all around and add the Daystar 1.5" rear spacer. The result would be approx a 3/2 lift. Would still need to trim . The Daystar spacer is $40 from 4wheelparts.com.

Ark,
You are the man. This is pretty much exactly what I am going to do. I just got 2011 FJ springs from the FJ forum for $75 shipped, going to buy new 5100s and throw them all around with the 1.5 daystar in the rear.
The only thing that sucks is I only have about 6k miles on my current tires. May hold off on the rear spacer and set front at .85 until I can upgrade tires. Or you think I should just bang out the 1.75 setting on the front right out of the box? I have the v8 with push bar and roof rack

Totally up to you, I'd do the .85 if you like a little rake or 1.75 if you want it completely level. Will look good either way.
Great deal on those coils, shipping was probably nearly half of that.

Anyone know which Daystar kit to use if I am going to swap my XREAS with the 2010 FJ bilstein suspension? Would it be the 9115 (for 4runner) or 9124 (for FJ) ?

Either should work (my guess, no experience here). From what others have said, the difference between the 2007-2009 and 2010+ is the shocks, not the coils. Quite a few have interchanged the kits between the FJ and 4runner with no issues. I wouldn't expect this to be any different, so I'd go with whichever is cheaper. Don't hold me to this, but from my understanding of other folks setup this should work.

ARK: thx anyway, I guess i'll order them both and see what the diff is. Any updates on the swap chart ? I'd like to know how much lift I'll get with the bilstein shock/spring setup without the daystar. If it's enough then I might just forget about the DS.

No updates yet...busy weekend.
Expect 1" front, .5" rear. Your results should be with .25" of that. I'd do that with the Toytec 1" spacer. The Daystar will probably be a little much.

Is there a difference between 2010 FJ springs and 2007 - 2009 FJ springs or is there just a difference in the shocks given those years?

Both are a direct swap, but I've heard the 2010+ are a little beefier that the earlier ones.

They should, don't see any reason they wouldn't.

I decided against 285's right off the bat as my current tires are pretty much brand new.
I am most likely going to opt out of the rear spacer as well at this time and just take the inch or so lift I will get out of the rear springs. I think the spacer would make it look a bit awkward without 285's.
In the front I am torn between 0.85 setting and 1.75 on the 5100s. I don't want any bro lift but also want the truck to sit level and not have as much rake, so it looks more aggressive. I am personally thinking with a 4wd, v8, a Push Bar, and roof rack that 1.75" is the logical choice to level everything out. This way if I decide to add 285's later I will not have to disassemble the strut, I can just add top off spacer in the front and 1.5 rear spacers. Anyone experience any differences in the ride between 0.85 & 1.75? Will this cause the shock to wear faster?
I am still trying to search around and find a few pictures of a set up with FJ coils and 5100s all around on 1.75". Thanks in advance for everyone's input!

The 1.75" setting on the 5100's gives more lift than it states, like 2.5-3" IIRC, combined with the addition 0.5-1" from the FJ's and you are looking at 3-4", if you aren't lifting the rear, stick to the 0.85" setting with the FJ's
