Gas Mileage with lift

I am new to lifts/etc... considering the Daystar 2.5/1.5 leveling kit, not getting tires just yet. Can anyone tell me if there is a big drop off in gas mileage in getting this kit? Or should I expect it to stay the same until I get new tires? Please Let me know. thanks

You may have a little drop with the lift b/c of the air dynamics of the vehicle but shouldn't be much. When you start adding the larger tires then that's when your mileage will drop.

It's the weight of the tires that will get you. Original tires are about 46lbs each. most others are around 50-60 depending on the size and tire

only with lift, mpg change will be more significant if you drive more highway then city. Aerodynamic effect will be negligible during city/slow driving.

Thanks for the pics. I am planning on a 2/1 lift next and my Michelin Cross Terrains (replacements at 32,000k) have only 17k on them. Your rig looks great.

What is the thought between lifts: Cornfed 2/1 vs. Daystar 2.5/1.5?

I think, dont hold me to it, but i think that you will get the advertised 2/1 with the Cornfed, and with the Daystar you can expect 2-2.5 on the front and 1-1.5 in the rear. But if you like the look of mine with daystar is it cheaper. There is a thread some where on here that users have sent ther lift info and lift gained with a spreadsheet of all the numbers. Of course I cant find it now. This might hlp you though..

I also did the DS 2.5/1.5. No gas mpg drop at all. 6 months later i did a wheel tire combo with some body mount and bumper shaving. With the new wheel tire combo I'm losing 2-3 mpg..+/-
Tires are LT285/60/18 Nitto Terras, E rated, on 18" KMCs. I DID order the P rated but this is what was installed...
I didnt think my mpg would drop that much.. im averaging 14/15 mpgs now,
Prior to wheel/tire was 17/18 mpg

When you added the Daystar, did you gain more ground clearance up front even though you are running stock tires? I am considering this lift and new shocks all around.

Yes, def more clearance, but i didnt measure before so I am not sure how much. But the wife *****es having to "climb" into it, I noticed a dif in getting in too but no more than a few inches if I had to guess. If you do the diff drop though, which i didnt do, than you wont get and more clearance.
