I want to move that d@mn DAC button!!!

I keep hitting the DAC button on the center console by accident while driving. Has anyone attempted moving it to the left side of the steering column, where there are empty switch ports?

Umm, well it won't activate unless you have the differential locked and the car in 4LO. I know its an annoyance, but it won't hurt the truck if you accidentally hit it while in motion.

You can probably move it with ease, just add some length to the switch.
 
I can see it now, your sending Toyota a letter with pictures included of all the buttons and where you relocated them:D
 
In theory you can move the switch, but I just had the center console out a few weeks ago, and as far as I can remember that switch is a mess of wires. It would be a pain to splice and run back into the center console over the the empty switches by the driver's side door. But if it annoys you enough . . . .
 
Thanks ksneubec, I was just curious. Two wire splices are no prob, but I'm not going out of my way and spending hours re-routing and splices a handful of wires.

I will be opening up the console again this weekend, so I will send you a message to confirm that there are as many wires as I seem to remember.

Here is a link to look at the center console- look at the 4th photo down. I believe the bright blue plug is the connection for the DAC button. Not as bad as I thought, but still a few wires. . . .

Where do you live, and do you have any photos of your ride posted? We need to organize a T4R meet in the area, the New Jersey boys are making us look bad.
 
if it bugs you that much and you're alway hit it just take apart that console pop the swatch out and move the swatch down to the end or middle when the empty button swatch are.very easy to do ! take you about 1 min or less!

No pics, no photos yet. The only mod I can afford right now is a pair of 65w low beam silverstars. I just paid my $670 excise tax bill... ugh..
