1) It's human nature to focus on bad experiences not good; we generally have to be "reminded" in life to praise as opposed to scold...this goes for training dogs, raising kids and about everything else in life. A poll like this doesn't really measure much, as only those willing to take the time and interest to respond are recorded. When we are happy we are less likely to talk about it as opposed to when we are mad. When's the last time you came home and eagerly told your spouse about the nice person who waved you over when you put your blinker on--NEVER. But you damn well told her all about the A-hole that cut you off! Same principle. Human nature.
2) You can't measure the "quality" of anything without a baseline of comparison. You can say "is this a cup of sugar?" and get an answer without a comparison because it is a quantity measurement. You can't say "how good is this sugar" unless you compare it to other sugar you have had in the past. One can't be expected to judge the quality of a president without a comparitive to a baseline, be that Bush, or Reagan or Lincoln. It just how it is. That is the nature of a "grade". It is a comparison to an average. An average is derived from a other peoples attempts at doing the same thing.
You can't win a race that you run alone. You have to compare your results to those of the other racers to measure your success.
I have no problem with Obama that I haven't had with any other president, therefore I will follow human nature an not vote. Besides, my vote would be of a comparison nature...but to what baseline, I don't know.
I am glad that something is happening with healthcare, I am employed and still have $750/month come out of my check to insure my family. I'll bet that's more than some folks on here pay for rent.
