I didn't do anything TO my 4runner, but I did some stuff WITH my 4runner. On Tuesday we had a 70+ degree day. Wednesday we got 20" of heavy, wet snow in 12 hours. Because the forecast didn't call for so much snow until hours before the storm arrived, tons of people drove to work thinking it was just another manageable spring storm, a few inches.
Well, I left my office at noon in blizzard conditions and passed 15-20 stranded vehicles in ~4 miles. I always carry a tow strap and decided to wait until I was closer to my neighborhood to start helping people.
No sooner do I turn into the 'hood, I see our mailman's minivan 3 feet over the curb and he's struggling to dig his front wheels out in someone's front yard. I wish I'd gotten a photo looking back at his truck while I towed him out bc it was pretty funny (not for him) but I pulled him out and then proceeded to pull out 3 other neighbors in the next 4 blocks whose cars had made it all the way home only to get stuck within blocks of their house (our neighborhood doesn't get plowed by the city). 4runner FTW!
Anyway, I advise everyone in locations with regular inclement weather always carry a tow strap in the event you or others get stuck. Plus it's always fun/rewarding to put your vehicle to use to help others out
Photo was upon arriving home - it snowed hard another 4+ hours after it was taken.
