Help figuring biggest tire I can squeeze on my rig with Bilstein leveling kit.

Aloha, I'm looking for some help on my specific 4runner setup. I just purchased a 2011 Trail Edition 4runner it came with a Bilstein leveling kit as the guy called it. So up front is 6112 they appear to be on the 4th notch with E4-FD1-Z005B50 springs. It also has SPC upper control arms. The rear is 5160 reserves and don't appear to be adjustable height wise. I'm pretty new to lifts to be honest. My old truck had a small lift from factory and I ran it on 31 BFG K02s which was fine.

My question is just about what size tire I can fit on this truck. It's currently on stock size 265 70R17 which is ok, the tires just leave something to be desired and I want to put a taller and more aggressive tire on it. Obviously I can crank up the front setting to the highest and gain some clearance. I'd like to fit 33" tires if possible but am open to 285/70R17 as they're just under 33" I've read a fair bit on here and other forums and I under stand 33" kind of fit with a leveling kit, but also a lift doesn't make a difference unless it's a huge lift.

Seems like I might have to do some trimming which I'm ok with if it's nothing crazy. See I also have a set of the original Trail Edition wheels and I know they'll sell easier with tires on them so I want to upgrade my tires on the TRD pro wheels it has on it now and take the 265s and put them on the trail edition wheels to sell as a package.

Any advice is appreciated I'd imagine someone on here has the same suspension and can offer some advice. Thank You!

To be realistic though, i absolutely love the General Grabber AT/X tires, absolutely favorite tire ever. They make them in a:
285/70-17 -- 32.7x11.2 <-- you will fit these basically no problem, no cutting, bolt on and go
315/70-17 -- 34.4x12.4

They also make the Grabber X3 mud tire, it is offered in a:
285/70-17 -- 32.7x11.2
295/70-17 -- 33.3x11.6
315/70-17 -- 34.4x12.4
33x12.5-17 -- 33x12.50

I like wide tires, if i could fit them i would have a 33x15.50 under my vehicle.

285/70-17 leveled with trimming and the right offset,
275/70-17 or maybe 285/75 is close.

Depends how fancy you want to get yourself with trimming devices.

I've had 285/75r17 (34's), 315/70r17, and 35x12.5's.

If you want a good look without a ton of cutting, stick to 34s.

If you're ok with a little extra cutting and a little rubbing even after cutting, go for 315s or 35's; they require about the same. I personally preferred the look of mine with the 315s over the 35s.

Ok sweet man! thanks for the pics. I honestly like your rig on all of those setups. So what are you running for suspension in those? all just leveling kit? I will be doing some offroading and expect occasional full flex so curious with the 34s what did you have trim? I'll do some searching for posts of course!

34's was pretty easy to fit if you did all the cutting required to fit 33's for full articulation (on 33s, BMC and front fender liner clearance). For suspension, you just need adjustable UCA and whatever spring/shock setup you can afford.

Only thing i had to do was add extended front bumpstops (and the cutting to fit 33's) so i didn't bow out my fenders when I g'd out on whoops.

35's do look good, but i wanted to limit my lift to 2.5 inches and didn't want to sacrifice reliability.

With the 34s, I ran a 2/2.5" spacer kit from Burtman. I did a BMC and trimmed a little off the rocker caps, bumper, and wheel liner. That's it; zero rub. I also ran Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers with this set up. If I were to ever go this route again, I would have done the spacer lift on the Fox struts up front, and skip the spacer in the back and do Dobinsons springs instead.

Going to the 315's took a lot more cutting on the bumper, rocker caps and fenders. I also relocated the body mount with DRT and hammered pinch welds.

Going to 35s I added high clearance rocker caps from @minwin3d. Overall 315's and 35s are about the same.

The suspension is now Kings set to about 3" of lift and Dobinsons springs in the rear.

Bilstein 5100 F/R (front clip is on the lowest setting, 2.75), Bilstein rear springs 1.5, OME 2887 front springs and trim packer to compensate for the lean. SCS 17X8.5 -10 w 285/70r17 K02. No rubbing. I just trimmed the front bumper (inner lip) and mud guard.
