Would not shift to the next gear

Yesterday I noticed while I was trying to enter the expressway that my 2011 would not shift into a lower gear so it may speed up. Even with the pedal nearly down to the grown it would not shift. It felts as if it was struggling. Finally after awhile of holding down the pedal it shifted. Has anyone experienced this problem?

sometimes it takes a second or so for the throttle to increase and for the truck to downshift to accelerate. It doesn't sound like you left off the gas, so that second delay or so probably wouldn't apply.

Have you had your truck for a while? I ask because it takes getting used to the ah, unusual? accelerator response. There are times when you just have to stomp it to get it to jump.
