I kept the XTerra for a year after buying the 4Runner... so I had them both at the same time. Hard to explain, the XTerra was more fun to drive in my opinion (fun fun engine & no excessive transmission downshifting), but I like the refinement of the 4Runner.
As I much as I loathe Nissan after they would not fix the defective trannie in my '05 Xterra, I will give you this - that Nissan V6 had pep. The '05 was actually faster 0-60 than the Porsche Cayenne the same year!

New here, and my first post. I've been researching my next purchase here, and I am hoping that some of you might be able to help with some perspective. I'm currently driving an '05 Xterra S, and looking to upgrade. I've test driven both the SR5 and the TE, and the TE definately has the cool factor overall. I'm currently being offered a 2012 leftover with 49 miles for 35,700 before tax and title. It has the nav, but no KDSS. From my research, it seems that this is under invoice and a good deal for the TE, but from what I've read, KDSS is really great and I'm bummed that there are no dealers around here that have a trail with KDSS for me to test out. Does this sound like a good deal?
This deal is better... Sorry, I had to try...

I was recently quoted 37,500 for a 2013 TE with KDSS and the nav system. Good deal or can I do better?

That was one in the state but not on their lot. I got the same quote for one on their lot in a color I didn't love.

Probably will end up waiting a month or two to save up a bit. Thinking about joining penfed or something to get a real low apr but I'll have to look into the particulars.

I've spoken to at least 3 and they've all been right there on price so I can't remember which one said they'd go get it.

Might've been Go Toyota?

I have them down to $36,200 on a new '12 TE that with Nav and KDSS. It's in my garage as we speak but I haven't signed the papers yet...still deciding. I think the offer is strong, but I'm coming out of a '05 Tundra DC so I'm hesitating because it's a big change for me.

Seems like an exceptionally good deal. If it doesn't smell like a corpse was transported in the back of it, I'd jump on the deal.

I don't think you'll miss your Tundra too much.

Wow. Is that because its a 12 or are you just that good at negotiating?

Alright. Been a while since my first post about the TE. In the end I ended up with an SR5. I didn't need all the goodies with the TE, and it was a better deal. Now onto the mods, and questions. I have hooked up the Camelback Toyota deal for some TE headlights, and plan on doing the tails too. I also am going for the leather wrapped steering wheel.
Questions about the mods. I only modified my Xterra slightly after the warranty was up, and I was wondering if anyone has experience with a Toyota dealer doing the install if I provide the parts.
Oh, and if your wondering, its a Mag Gray SR5 with the convenience package. nice and simple.
Thanks all.
